Coming to the product, the reception quality is of the following order: 1. FM - very good 2. MW - average 3. SW - very poor I can't blame the radio since the technology behind these transmissions are designed so. Pros: 1. Built in rechargeable battery. [U definitely need some battery power supply, since AC power supply generates lot of noise when hearing MW channels] 2. Crisp and clear sound 3. Use of AA batteries as other models use R14 type which is difficult to find in local store. Cons: 1. Lack of headphone jack 2. Little heavy weight [Around half a kilo] 3. The precision of the frequency tuner is low [U will notice this problem while tuning SW channels. Within a small turn of tuner, u receive 4 to 5 channels. Since the precision is low, u cannot hear one channel at a time.] 4. The manufacturer box seemed a bit old. The printing on the box were washed out although the manufacturing date was June 2012.

The volume can be increased to significantly loud levels, so I can hear the radio from the next room. There are 3 power options which make it all the more convenient to use, (AC, AA Battery and Inbuilt Rechargeable battery). Flipkart delivered it within 40 hours.(which is a great thing too). My parents were so happy after receiving the product. They were looking for something and this radio perfectly fitted the bill. The quality of sound is also very good. Sometimes it is these small things which gives a lot of satisfaction in the daily lives of people who matters to you. Writing this review after 2 years of purchasing this radio. While this radio was not picking up the locla station such as DD radio station, I visited service center, I was shocked when they told me the parts inside are duplicate Chinese parts and only the body is real Philips. So shameful Amazon and the deale should be for looting people.

I bought this for my grandma as she needs a radio playing 12 hours a day without holding up too much kitchen space. I set it up for her, and first thing I realised was that it could be really, really loud without any voice tearing. I suspect running it at full blast too long would eventually damage the speakers, but even 80% volume is loud enough to be audible from the next room. It runs on AC power normally, and also runs on batteries (though not as loud) so even during power cuts, it doesn't stop - you only have to flip a switch. It has a decent auto-tuning feature too, so my grandma has no hassle switching stations, and only has to fine tune for signal. At its price (1120/-) I am beyond satisfied.
