Gamer's choice
By Asavinash73on
It's totally worth of money . I m happy to have it
awesome cpu
By Yagyeshon
This cpu + GTX 970 is enough for gaming at ultra. Dont buy i7 if you are on low bugdet. Just need to buy hyper 212x now
One of the best processor
By RaknOon
one of the best consumer line processor. Best to use with high processing need softwares like Adobe After effects Final cut as well as Creo Catia the mighty softwares like Ansys Nastran which needs heavy processing
But i think the cost for this processor is bit higher yet snapdeal provided me
best deal available at market
Its a cpu you already know why to get this!
By Sagar.poisonon
It was shipped with GoJavas which has a lot of hateful comments on the internet, but it arrived on the expected day at 10AM.
Which was quick enough, the package was only packed with a cardboard no bubble wrap which was a little frightening.
Highly recommended CPU for gaming!
By Rohit balasubramanianon
This is the best CPU for your high-end gaming needs. This CPU has the power equal to the i7-4790K but the i7 comes with Hyper threading which is not utilized by games yet and it's not expected to be used for the foreseeable future.Get the i5-4690K if:1)You have a GTX 900 series GPU or any AMD equivalent of it2) If you don't need the Hyper threading features of the i7-4790K.Get the i7-4790K if:1) You have the most powerful GPU made till date (GTX 980 TI/ R9 390X)2) You're a power user and render videos and stream a lot of your games to Twitch which uses the hyper threading feature of the i7i7 being better for gaming than i5 is just a myth. i7 is definitely better than i5 but for reasons mentioned above which you may or may not use. i7 is right now, only useful for power users. So save your money and get the i5
Superb! Superb! Superb!
By Sameer D.on
This is the crown jewel of my HTPC setup. The delivery was prompt and on time. The processor is just to good! I haven't overclocked it and don't plan to since it's performance out of the box itself has been great! The only con or problem I had was that EVERY SINGLE PROCESSOR ON EARTH HAS THAT SMALL ARROW IN THE CORNER TO BE ALIGNED WITH THE SOCKET. This one didn't have any arrow. I took a chance, matched the notches and prayed to God. Fortunately, it worked. I was really really worried during the installation for this one reason.Otherwise, it has been performing really really well! Simply superb!!!
Silicon Lottery Winner
By Arijiton
I think I have won the Silicon Lottery with this Processor. Paired with a Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 3 motherboard and Corsair H75 AIO Liquid Cooler, have been able to overclock it to 4.7 Ghz stable, with temps hardly ever touching 65 degrees on really heavy load.In single core performance it obviously goes head to head with i7-4790K.Delivery from Amazon was before time. Amazon delivery has been consistently outstanding and their products somehow turn out to be among the best of the lot. That's really saying something considering the range o products that they offer and their worldwide reach.
Awesome compatibility. Although have not tried overclocking yet
By NåR?Töon
PC working at lightening speed from last 2years with no issues. I hooked it up with Asus motherboard K series. Awesome compatibility. Although have not tried overclocking yet..:p

Overclocking results
By Arun Kumaron
I paired the CPU (i5-4690K) with a Z97 mobo (MSI z97s SLI Krait Edition). At the outset, I set CPU multiplier to 45 (4.5GHz) and manual voltage to 1.200V. Windows booted fine. This indicates that I have a decent chip that can be overclocked.
I have been using prime95 (v27.9 and v28.5), AIDA64, OCCT 4.4.1, Realbench 2.2 and Intel XTU for stress test. All of them give stable results except for prime95 v28.5. This version of prime95 has AVX2 instruction set that literally cooks the Haswell CPUs. I have a Hyper 212x cooler but its deficient for the purpose when using voltages above 1.200V with prime95 v28.5. Temperatures reach > 95 deg C in no time! For frequencies 4.6GHz or 4.7GHz which require > 1.200V, we would need solid water cooling solution when running prime95 v28.5.
I used the "Adaptive + Offset" mode so that my voltage drops when CPU is idle. Here are my results (voltage required) for various frequencies:
default (3.5/3.9GHz): Auto, Load 1.100V
4.3GHz: Adaptive 1.085V, offset: -0.005, Load 1.100V
4.4GHz: Adaptive 1.135V, offset: -0.005, Load 1.150V
4.5GHz: Adaptive 1.185V, offset: -0.005, Load 1.200V
4.6GHz: Adaptive 1.235V, offset: -0.005, Load 1.250V (prime95 v28.5 results in > 95C temp, hence test stopped!)
After a lot of testing I have settled for 4.4GHz@1.135V. I feel this is ideal for stability and longer life of CPU.
First To Review (Updated
By Atharva Vaidyaon
I was too damn impatient to buy it, so I bought it from IT Depot.
Anyways.
It's SAME. SAME EVERYWHERE WITH THE 4670K.
Is it worth the extra?
Yes :D
Pros:
MASSIVELY LOW HEAT THAN THE 4670K
More headroom for overclocking
Cons:
ABSOLUTELY NONE
Go for it. Don't think.
Just go.
Press buy now.
My PC Specs:
i5-4690K
MSI Z97 Guard Pro
R9 285x (Gonna buy that when it's released)
8 GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHz Memory
Hyper 212x by CM
CM JetFlo x2 (Red)
Transcend SSD 128Gigs SSD320 SATAIII
WD Blue EZEX10 1TB 7200RPM SATAIII
CM Elite 431Plus
Seasonic M12II Bronze 750W PSU
And I think that's it :)
Good News, All of that is available on flipkart, so if you live in Delhi, buy from Nehru Place, else, flipkart is the cheapest :3
PERFORMANCE RESULT:
So I'm using this processor since 4 months now. Damn, I'm impressed, it's the best VFM CPU out there right now.
I used Hyper212X by CM for cooling.
It works well as an air cooler.
Room temps. 30-35C.
CPU temps on full load @4.2GHz (It's my normal now): 28-35C. Max while rendering. 50C.
Awesome performance Super fast go for it :)

My system: Intel i5 4690k processor, asus z97 A motherboard, Adata Premier Pro SSD, Seagate Hybrid 1 TB Secondary Drive, Corsair 8 GB DDR3 RAM, Circle cabinet, Techcom 600W SSD SMPS, Win 8.1
Its a great processor. Works like a charm. With intel rapid start technology my OS boots within 5 seconds, just like I am waking it up from stand by mode. Heavy programs like photoshop, adboe premiere opens up within seconds.
I would recommend it if you are looking for a processor for heavy usage such as video / image editing, rendering etc. within 15-16k budget.
Its a unlocked processor, means you can overclock it. I.e. change the processor speed to 4 GHz for example. You will need a Z97 chipset board for overclocking support. My asus board supports overclock but until now I did not need to use OC feature.
I will update when I test overclocking.
Overall its a great processor. Go for it :)
Fabulous!
By Gaurang Bhavsaron
Great CPU ever i bought. Great for pro gamers and video editing and rendering. It consumes low power and provide excellent performance.
Great deal of Flipkart. Thanks Flipkart.
Go for it.

If you are confused between i5 4690k and fx 8350 k, the i5 4690k is the way to go. Its 4 cores beat AMD's 8 cores in gaming and surprisingly in rendering too. Moreover , it comes with Intel HD 4600 , an IGPU which can run many popular games like WoW, CS GO, Dota2, LoL and FC3 at good fps.
FX8350 is a good choice if you have a budget not more than 10k-12k.
