I have used other rice cookers before. I got the cooker recently and I have observed that it tends to make the rice a little too dry.. The specs say that you can make 5 cups of rice.. but if you try to cook 5 cups it will be until the brim of the cooker, and might overflow also. It can be used for comfortably cooking a max of 3 and 1/2 to 4 cups of rice.. If it is left on warm for a little longer, the lowest layer of rice become too dry and uneatable. Hence, I have stopped adding the water to the level mentioned and make sure I add a little more than that.. If you make rice in this, it is best that you eat it as soon as rice is done.. I've also observed that the glass lid doesn't sit perfectly. But, I dont think this affects the cooking. The non stick cooking vessel is a big plus, but the non stick feels a little low quality and is not black in color like the regular non-stick vessels (It is a light grey shade). The detachable cord and the design are all good (except the lid seating.. maybe it is only my piece). I would recommend this if you are looking to make rice for 2 people for 1 meal and intend to eat it right away and not leave it in warm for more than 15 mins..

Its only labelled a rice cooker, but i cook a myriad of other stuff with it!
My job requires me to travel around a lot and this cooker fits in perfectly in a bag which has size limitations and weight limitations.
To cook one's own food in a foreign country makes you feel right at home. :)
The cooker's got a non-stick vessel inside which is easy to clean afterwards! i regularly make biryani, pulav, rice (of course), kichdi, noodles, upma, etc. I even use it to heat up / toast bread/bun before eating it.
The only thing I cannot prepare with it is chapatis / rotis. :(
Other than that, this cooker acts like a mobile stove, literally! :)

I had bought this from flipkart last month following are pros and cons.
Pros
- Rice cooks faster and thoroughly
Cons
- The lid doesn't keep the steam inside and the boiling water leaks out of it creating a mess of starch. U have to keep some weight on it.
- The keep warm function is totally useless as it burns the rice even within minute of cooking.
- Power cord is ridiculously short and u may struggle if your power point is at a little distance (As in my case)

Hi its a nice product from Philips. I don't know why other people didn't like this cooker.
One guy wrote that the rice is unevenly cooked but it is not like that.
According to me, if you pour proper water it won't stick.
Advantages of taking this cooker:
1. 2 years warranty.
2. Easy to clean.
3. Price is very economical.
4. "Automatic keep warm Function" means automatically it will shut off. No more power consumption and rice will not get roasted. This one can be considered as an advantage.
For bachelors, newly married couple and students this one is a awesome and wonderful product.
