The speaker is smaller than what's shown in the images (though I do wish they had it in black) and it has some weight to it as well, like a portable charger, and that's a good thing. It doesn't jump about at high volume either. I was looking for a cheap and temporary speaker setup for my laptop as the built in speakers got ruined and were unbearable to listen to. My final choices were b/w this and the hellscream ( which is a 2 speaker setup which connected via usb for power and 3.5mm audio jack for sound) and I went with this because it was a single speaker setup that connected via a single usb cable...so less clutter.I don't know how the hellscream speakers perform but I don't regret buying these. These speakers get LOUD.The sound quality out the box is kind of off...it has some tight bass and the highs are very much present and the mids are fine but its all muddled. The base isn't jaw shattering but it does produce a tight "thump". The sound is more "closed" and the sound stage isn't anything to write home about. Once you do some eq adjustment the sound gets Much better. For example if your watching music videos on VLC media player use the "party" preset and the sound quality and music and vocal separation becomes A Lot better. Basically the lows and highs are turned up 2 points. You can do this over any media player or laptop audio settings, so that's good. Do be ware that there is some white noise in the background when the speakers are connected, while your pc is on and not in use...it's this slight hiss you can notice when the room is completely silent...but with regular ambient noise it isn't that noticeable, unless you look for it... and it doesn't increase even if you turn the volume all the way up.All in all for Rs 399 it definitely is a good deal in my opinion. Maybe burning in the speakers for 60-100 hours at low to mid volume might bring in some more "warmth" to the sound of the speakers. The cable length is fine for my usage.And kudos to Amazon Prime...ordered it on Monday morning and received it Wednesday morning...the fastest I get anything is in 4-5 working days...up to 2 weeks in some cases.
