I found this appropriate over conventional USB dongles. The dongles protrudes out of your desktops and unless you desktop is tucked away you may occasionally bump into in unknowingly, I had a couple of instance so I thought the why not utilize the inbuilt mini PCI express slot available in the mother board itself. That's when I ordered this and it solved almost all my issues except coverage, as I have my desktop in guest room even though the router is in the guest room I had coverage issues and signal dropping, since it was adding more to my issues I thought was my decision wise enough to switch from USB to internal? But sooner than later I found the solution, I bought the TPLINK TL-ANT2405C 5 dbi antenna extension and bingo! it solved my coverage issue and now I have full 5 bars always.

Flipkart Review: Flipkart delivered this product in 1 and a half day (I live in Hyderabad) and packaging was good as always... Now on to the product review... I don't know much about WLAN Cards and NICs... I bought this one to create a Wi-Fi Hotspot at my home to share my PC's internet with my Mobile and other Wi-Fi devices. I used an application called ' Connectify ' to do so...and it worked just fine.150 Mbps is more than enough for us in India right now,you won't need an upgrade for at least 6-7 years,maybe. This card is small when compared to other Wlan cards which use PCI slots,it requires a PCI-E slot and does not disturb the Graphics Card which is usually on the PCI-E x16 slot. Windows 8 recognized this immediately when I plugged it in and installed the drivers for me (No need to install the drivers from the CD,unless you have Windows Vista or older OS) It has a detachable antenna so that you can replace the stock antenna with a stronger antenna,the stock antenna is enough If you want to connect to other WiFi devices in your house. I got what I needed at an affordable price. Trust me on this one..all those who said "Internet will run slow and disconnect frequently after sometime" probably exceeded their FUP and having internet connection problem.Internet slowing down has nothing to do with this card unless you are using Wi-FI to surf Internet So, 5 Stars

I did check if i have PCI Ex slot before buying this, so once i got it all i had to do was to pop open my PC and put the card in.. Windows 7 couldn't download drivers ( obviously! ) inserted CD and that also went thru smoothly ! ( Ubuntu detected the card without problems ! ) Gripes:- My router is hardly 10 feet away inside a wooden drawer.. Every device including my Phone, Tablet, Laptop can get really really strong signal.. But this card hardly gets any signal. My laptop gets much better signal behind 20 feet away behind two walls so not sure the problem is with the router. Flipkart also doesn't stock TP-LINK TL-WN881ND or else it would be the obvious choice. Will check with flipkart if they will accept this return ;)

Great card! For gaming PCs, getting a PCI WLAN card is not advised - PCI ports are either under your graphics card cooler OR a card in a PCI port will block one of the fans on your graphics card since the PCI slot is long. A PCIe WLAN card is a rather rare find (this is the only one available on Flipkart so far) and is much better suited for a gaming PC since it's much smaller and will fit into any PCI Express slot - x1, x4 or x8/x16, so you can choose where you'll place it on your mainboard as to not prevent airflow to/from the graphics card. Moreover: - it has a 3 year warranty (most PCI/PCIe peripheral cards only have 1) - it is identified by Windows 7 as Atheros-based WLAN card right away and you don't even need to install the drivers from the included CD (if your OS doesn't recognize the card, DO install the drivers but do it through the Device Manager unless you want their useless "WLAN utility" installed as well... who needs ANOTHER WiFi managing utility when Windows already has one inbuilt and its capabilities are more than enough for 90% users? THIS is why Windows is notorious for bloatware... 3rd party bloatware /rant) - it has a detachable antenna, so you can always swap it out for a bigger one if you need better signal quality - IIRC, it came with a mini-bracket for smaller cases - low price (compared to some D-Link WLAN cards, for instance... which are not even PCIe but PCI and only have 1 year warranty) Really, this is a great WLAN card. Make sure you have a free PCIe slot (preferably x1 or x4 since you normally need x16 for graphics card or something like that) and go for it.

Thus, choice is yours, if you're willing to switch to bigger range routers with bigger antennas, even USB adapters will work fine.

TP-Link TL-WN781ND 150Mbps very good entry level adapter, I have 45 Mbps internet connection, using with adapter till now never speed drop. If you want very good connectivity and lower dBm then adjust wifi antenna and adjust also router antennas. I using TP-Link TL-WR841ND v11 router. Conclusion - Very good adapter who using up to 100 Mbps internet and computer near about router.

Initially i was using TL-WN725N on my desktop and i wasnt satisfied with the range/reception capabilities when it came to performance as it affected the ping and actual speed by more than 50% at the distance i was using it at.So i decided to check this product out. I was very skeptical at first but i bought it with a good lightening deal for ?570.Believe me, once i attached it on my motherboard i took a big sign of relief as to my expectations it just did not improve the signal strength but also the ping and speed was back to original and it actually got as snappy as it was supoosed to be. It wont disappoint you as it is strong and effective.

TP-Link is a popular brand for budget oriented good products. This is just another one. Bought for my Gigabyte motherboard because because the on board lan port was dead. and this express card resolved my issue. I was using a usb wifi card for the p.c and was searching for a good pci express based lan card but I was only getting chinese lan card and the branded one like D-link etc were more than 1000 rupees & I think buying them is not worthy.This lan card is perfect. perfectly fit, perfect speed and working fine with windows 10 64 bit.

Got what I needed ! It is good for surfing and small network transfers. Just tried some online gaming, CS:GO and Battlefield, moderate ping and some packet loss still playable. It is still better than the USB wifi adapters I've used. I have used it for 2 months now and have had no issues so far. The I/O plate on the device is a little longer than I expected so had some issues while installing it. Overall I would recommend buying it.
