Beware of version - v3

I purchased this mainly for installing dd-wrt. There are v1, v2 and v3 versions available and only first two are popular and supports open firmwares. The flipkart sells v3 but it doesn't mention anywhere so it was useless to me !
Other than this disappointment, delivery service was good and router itself is stable but it didn't serve my purpose.
Flipkart must mention part and version numbers of tech products even firmwares it ships with, if applicable !!
WNDR3700v4

The product shipped to me was the WNDR3700v4 opposed to people mentioning v3. The listing I believe remains the same. Anyways it comes with the original Atheros chip (v1 and v2) replacing the Broadcom chip (v3), which people weren't happy about. Needs a firmware upgrade out of the box (7.15MB) I think. Just finished setup of the router, wizard is fast and quick, I however did the manual settings. The cable included is a CAT5e which imo could be a CAT6e.. Just saying.. Living in a 1000 sq apartment with router in the corner. No problems with the coverage or connectivity drops..
Note this is a Day 1 review and initial feedback. If I find anything majorly wrong I will edit/make a new comment.

Anyone serious about having a the fastest wireless network infrastructure in their home or office, this is the gear to go for! After doing a month long research on all available wireless N routers - this was clearly the winner in terms of performance. At home I have a smart TV from samsung, and I do a lot of wireless full HD video streaming, i have a lot of my wireless devices (tablets, android phones, laptops, x360 & ps3) that i use DLNA heavily on - and this router just handles everything thrown at it!
Great for speed, range, not that much.

The router has great speed nearby, walls kill its range, and it cannot cover a large house especially if there are thick walls. Also, it will work at 200 mbps on 2.4ghz only if there are no conflicting networks(using the same or nearby channels) and there is no way to override that setting according to the new WiFi standard specifications.

Package was neatly done. Instructions were properly given. Being an Expert user it took 2 mins to set it up with Windows 8 laptop.
Provides most the options I require from this device. The only disappointment is this is not a v4 device rather the WSRetail shipped me the v2 device. But v2 device supports OpenSource Routers Firmware, I'm happy anyway with this.
Fantastic product if you are looking for streaming, gaming and dual band. Readshare feature through USB is something you will appreciate if you are travelling and looking to access something from your home storage.
Guest Setup and Advanced QoS Service gives an advantage on how you want your home network to be treated.
If you have couple extra thousands look for N600 Premium Edition only if you are an Advanced Internet & Entertainment devices users
