This is good drive for reading old disks. While my old LG drive would get stuck at bad spots on the video disk, this drive somehow manages to play on with the screen displaying a few square patches when the bad spots are encountered. Though the drive looks quite delicate, it is a sturdy performer.I have not managed to check the writing operation on double layered disks. So, I am giving 4 stars.

Bought this DVD writer to backup my system and burn DVDs as needed. The writer is not as much slim as it has a tray loading, so if you need to carry it a lot then probably its not the best model to choose. But the build quality is good and the burn speed is also as per the standard. Though its cable has two ports, it works on single USB port also. Overall a good product to buy for writing backups.

This product is has been working good for me since I bought it. There hasn't been any glitches in writing or reading CDs and DVDs so far. It is a light weight product. It does not need special drivers - works with the inbuilt motherboard drivers and can be used to directly boot into a Linux live CD or Windows installation disc. It read discs which my previous internal drive of another brand didn't. Writing speed is good - writes a DVD in about 10 minutes at approximately 11 Mbps.

Its a great product i had my 2 laptops on which the CD drive were not working the total cost of getting it repaired was more than 8000 rs but i thought to purchase this amazing product, this gave me an amazing response and has solved all the problems of my laptops and this also can be used in Televisions :)

I got this product from flipkart within 3 days. The packaging was excellent. Drive is very light weight. it is easy to carry anywhere. amazing thing is that it is plug & play & easily installed in windows 7 without any error. I have created one dvd so far & it burnt very well. also copies the contents on dvd or cd very fast. Overall it is a very valuebale product with fair price from flipkart.
