A great router and a open source friendly one

After searching and rejecting the Dlink 605 L due to its failure to autonegotiate the WAN with my ISP i have been reviewing the routers form all companies each one has its own drawbacks, finding wifi router is finding a new religion. I was bummed by Linksys Cisco router WRT120N , non performer , warm router drops connection and made me go insane so i was on the lookout for a new router, DLINK 605L was very good in stability but bad in autonegotiation with my ISP , this router scored a lots of points on newegg and amazon, After reviewing i bought it from Flipkart , Range is much greater than cisco and Dlink, supports both DDWRT and OPENWRT , tested OPENWRT on it works great, Even the stock firmware is stable , has a USB port for shaing files over wifi , but is limited to FAT32 types . However connection stability is very strong no reboots from last 3 days , i will add to my reviews after a week and after a month for you all to understand any shortcomings if it throws up, a gigabit router at 4K , you cannot ask for more, not a dual band but 4K can only fetch you that much far.
Great Router

This is an excellent router. It is very easy to setup (you can set it up by directly running the CD provided with the router on your computer). It takes less than 5 – 10 minutes to set up by following 3 simple steps mentioned in its pictorial documentation. It is really fast at its 300 mbps bandwidth and allows multiple devices to connect through it. It is highly secure as it provides WPA2 level wireless security besides WPA and WEP. It is ideal to use in a home or small office use. It has an USB port which allows this router to perform as a wireless print server with which you can wirelessly network/connect to your printer (and even connect to scanners wirelessly in wireless-enabled Multi Function Printers like the Epson L355). This is a really great feature as you don’t need to share the printer through a computer and keep that computer running so that multiple users can use the printer. It is very reliable and provides smooth, seamless and uninterrupted access to your internet connection. [A word of caution: This is a router WITHOUT a modem. So if you have a ADSL internet connection like MTNL or BSNL, it would be better to go for a Wireless-router-WITH-modem like D-Link Wireless N 300 ADSL2+ 4-port Ethernet Router with USB (DSL-2750U)].
Drops connection bad warranty service

The router keeps dropping the internet connection, you have to pull the power cord and reset the power supply. I sent it to to link as it is under warranty and they kept my router for a month and then later said that they lost it. Now they promise to give me a new router, however I am still to receive one and still waiting on any kind of replacement router. It has been almost a month I am not able to use my internet.
A Great Wi-Fi Router

In February 2012 I bought 2 of TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router along with 6 of TP-Link TL-WN821N 300Mbps Wireless N USB Adapter in USA, both of the TL-WR1043ND are in use since then here in New Delhi, one at home and one at office, 2 years of continuous use and both are working fine.
TL-WR1043ND has a good signal range, I get adequate signal in the park in front of my house around 25 meters away. In winters I enjoy working under the Sun on a park bench with greenery around me :)
Remember to get a good range, it is necessary to place your Wi-Fi router at a proper place with least interference. Walls, electrical wiring etc affect the range, most importantly cordless phones cause disruption. There is an article on TP-Link website on how to optimise TL-WR1043ND for better range and signal strength.
I keep the firmware updated.
Here's a trick: It has one USB port, but you can extend it using a USB hub. I have attached one HP Laser Jet 1020 Plus and one Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 2TB external drive using a USB Highspeed 7 Port Hub w/ AC Adapter, now my Laser Jet printer is available to all computers/laptop using TP-Link USB Printer Controller (free software) and 2TB of storage to backup data from all computers.
Problem with WIFI DROP

Router Program is excellent,
but if you want to use wifi then its really not good.
in this router 3 wifi Antenna given but in real that is SHOW OFF.
and if you want security for each computer in your network then this router is good.
individual pc control and security.
One more Problem: my ISP provide 20-MBPS internet speed -after upgrade new firmware im not getting 10MBPS speed as my Internet plan. so if i connect with other company router then its working 100% perfect. i mean this tplink have some BUG in program thats reason not getting internet speed to my computer if use TPLINK Router.
and i already send request to flipkart for a replacement with new router. this router is costly also. so really unhappy by speed controlling.
