I bought these IEMs (In-Ear Monitor - for the uninitiated :) ) after hearing a lot about Soundmagic brand from discussion boards. Though they are rated quite badly amongst the biggies, they promise to give the maximum bang/buck, just like their "sister" model PL-11. I was looking for something with a more balanced sound profile - which gives decent bass as well as colourful mid-tones and also detail in the high end of the frequency spectrum, and PL-21 quite meets those expectations. I already own the well known Creative EP-630, which are more or less in the same price range of Rs. 800-1200/-. But comparitively, the detail in the sound is better with PL-21. In Summary: Pros: Good detail in sound for this price; tight bass; handy cover; fits well inside a helmet. Cons: Said to be a bit delicate compared to Sennheiser models; They sounded awful initially, took about 1-2 days of overnight play and another 4-5 days of heavy usage to wake up to their best.

First of all, i would like to let u know that i am an Audiophile and earphone collection is one of my hobbies.I have a wide collection of earphones that includes high end products like Sennheisser, Klipsch, Bose to lower end products like Skull Candy, Philips,etc. I always wanted to try SoundMagic and thus i carried out an extensive research in various international earphone forums....this particular product was rated highly in most of those forums ( as well as in Flipkart for that matter). So, I ordered this product on Flipkart and got it delivered within 2 days!! Then, I allowed a "Burn-in" period of close to 60 hours and then checked the earphones. But to my utter disappointment the earphone sounded DUMB.....there was absolutely NO BASS....nd the mids were also not so clear...Believe me guys, even my 400 worth Panasonic RP-HJE120E-K Headphones sound better than SoundMagic PL21. It's definitely not worth this high price. So, please dont get swayed by other reviews...AVOID THIS PRODUCT.!!!

its not the best , cuz there is the m21 , but the price gap is big here . the pl21 comes with a nice pouch , some tips , ( sony hybrids dose best with them ) . the build quality is really nice , can be said same about the part of the cable above the splitter . the price is not the best , but not bad , i loved the package , not the one from flipkart ( nice it is ), the square 10*10 cm carton . the goods :- goods are more here , nice bass , mids are not the best , nor the highs , do you want them at this price point ? look at the meelec m21 for them . the bass is really nice , if you are coming from ep630 , you will notice the less muddy bass is good , if your coming from m11+ or m6 , or m9 , you will feel the mids and highs are a bit bad and bass is not that impact full , but the impact is not bad , its like 90% of them . the sound is really pleasant . clarity is not the best , but thats what you get for the price and that really nice for the price . the bads :- the mids and highs are a bit recessed , the highs are nearly lost , if you dont give some stress on them , the cable clip may be annoying . so lets do it :- if you like bass , want to replace your under 1000rs earphone ( not the she 9550 ) then go for it noww . its 8.5/10 . if you like bass , and want some mids too and will not mind about the highs the its a 7/10 for you . if you dont like bass and want good mids and highs , this is not for you , look else where like she 9550 , or the m21 . this is a nice buy . you can go for it .

very good in balance between base and clarity. Better than high price sony IEMs. If you want only base clarity is not a issue then go for pl11. I am using it about 6 months. Availability of this IEM is very low. Thank you Flipkart for adding this product. There is also a model MP-21 which is actually a PL21+mic. Flipkart plz add MP-21.

Duration used: Two weeks. Sound quality(after 50hrs burn-in): Lows - Punchy and low. Mids - Good. Highs - Clear. Sound stage - Great. Frequency response - Great(covers a wide range). Materials/construction: Good materials used EXCEPT the earbuds. The earbuds are Not comfortable. You can change them with better ones. Last comments: Earlier I have used a Sennheiser CX series in-earphone. Clarity was better with Sennheiser. In the end I AM HAPPY with the product.
