I bought this mainly for blending fruit smoothies and rice/dal for making dosas/idlis and I am very happy with the build quality and the functioning of the unit.
Please make note of the below points before buying.
Biggest jar (plastic) - for blending / whipping. It can only blend soft/semi-solid food mixed with water/milk. I tried blending apples and oranges with some water but failed.
Medium jar (metal) - for wet grinding. Use this for fruits, rice, dal, coconut etc.
Small jar (plastic) - for chutney.
Each jars has its own lid which has an air lock mechanism (rubber lining). It helps keep the food contained. Load only 2/3rds of either jar.
Buttons - red for on/off and 3 others for power levels 1,2 and 3.
It has an auto cut-off feature to protect the motor which is quite handy. But every time this cut-off happens, you need to flip the main uint over and manually switch on the circuit breaker.
power cord is only about 1 meter long.
cleaning the jars is super easy. Just place the jars under the tap and wash with pressurized water. Clean the main unit with a wet cloth.
Enjoy your blending/mixing/grinding with this fabulous unit by Panasonic ! Definitely recommended.

Touch of advanced technology is in every part of this grinder.
PROS:
1. Overload Protection and automatic off when overloaded.
2. Double locking system: The blade will not spin if either the jar or the lid is not properly fitted.
3. Very serious care has been given to avoid leaking. Even the bolts below the jars are coated with glue to avoid rusting or leaking.
4. Spring type lock at lid and rubberred to make it water tight.
5. Handel of jars are extended upto base of the jar making it strong
6. 5 years warranty on motor
CONS:
Only one thing I'll like to complain that recommended maximum level of wet grinding at the medium jar is only the one third of the volume where for dry grinding recommended maximum level is half of the volume!!!
CHECK OTHER PANASONIC MODELS TOO BEFORE BUYING. ONLY JARS ARE DIFFERENT. CHECK OUT WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED. BUY IF YOU ARE FINDING A DURABLE PRODUCT. IT DESERVES THE EXTRA MONEY YOU ARE PAYING...

Mixi is being handled as per instruction given and sometimes it is very hard to press the button. Unable to identify that when it will work and when it wont. Not at all good as per brand value.
