Signal strength is excellent 16GB version has 12.92GB available for user 500MB (total 900MB) available for user after all apps Screen resolution is excellent Camera - Images and videos are good, I will never use mobile as "digital still camera" Cool Motorola apps Both Speakers, external and for call are good Battery lasts for more than 24hrs with moderate call usage and 2G on for 8hrs and wifi rest of the day I would strongly recommend, Happy to be back to Motorola - my first mobile phone

Design The design of moto g is the replica of moto x.Its a tough phone with a good handy size and the back of the phone is a rubber like plastic with a dimple of motorola logo which makes it very comfortable to hold it.It also has a water repellent nano-coating .This doesn't make it water proof, but at least makes it more resistant to the odd spill/splash. Screen One of the biggest highlights of the Moto G is its 4.5-inch 720p HD IPS LCD, which works out to a density of 329 pixels per inch i.e sharper than Apple's iPhone 5s, which offers 326ppi. It has also used Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the Moto G to protect it from scratches which is usually found on premium devices priced at Rs. 30,000 and above. Camera It delivers pretty decent clicks with a 5 mp rear and 1.3 mp front camera with led flash and HD recording.It has a unique feature of slow motion video recording also with other features HDR and panorama. Processor & Performance The Moto G is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 graphics and 1GB of RAM onboard.The performance is great.It doesn't slows down even with 4-5 background applications running.Even when playing a heavy graphics game like Asphalt-8:Airborne it runs very smoothly.And when i performed a benchmark test by AnTuTu it recorded a score of 11,874 which is pretty close to big phones nexus 4 and Galaxy S III. Software One of the best features of moto g is that it has the lastest android version i.e 4.4 KitKat and that too with a stock android,stock edition users get the latest versions of Android OS immediately they are out, while customized users have to wait months – and sometimes a year (Ahem! Sony.. cough!) to get updates to their device. Battery Life The 2070 mAh seems low but actually it isn't in the case of moto g.The battery life of moto g is pretty decent.With a normal usage it lasted about a day and with heavy usage like playing games,movies with wifi/3g enabled the whole time and calling for 2-3 hours it lasted for about 12-13 hours,which was not bad. Cons The only downside of moto g is that there is no NFC.Although NFC is a pretty cool tech but think about it even if it had would you use it. Verdict At this price point, no other phones offer an experience that is as good, so in that sense the Moto G is a game changer.I bought it and i definetly recommend you to get it.

Beware Samsung , moto is here. This phone is way better than even above 20000 samsung galaxy shits. It feels super smooth. Absolutely no lag in anything. Gaming performance is also very good. Do note that all this it does in 1GB RAM , so this means that blind hardware specs have no meaning on performance. From the physical build point of view it feels rock solid. You can actually search up youtube videos on its drop test. This is also liquid resistant , so if you accidentally drop it in water it will just work. There's also one video in youtube where its dropped for 30 minutes and it still works. Really crazy!! Bottom line is this is the highest ended phone among the low end spec phones and it raises the bar quite high. So just go for it.

I bought the 16 gb version. So, here are some useful points for new buyers: 1) Display: Awesome, crisp, clear, vivid and beautiful. 2) Speed and performance: Zero lag, lightening fast. Pure Android experience as expected from & by Google. After the kitkat update, the performance is much better as kitkat is optimized for 512MB RAM phones. So, 1GB is more than enough here! Battery performs really well, goes for 1.5-2 days on one full charge with nominal usage. With heavy 3G usage, it goes for 1 day+. 3) Call quality: No issues! Clean and clear! 4) Build quality: just great, design is awesome. Its a joy holding this phone in your hand. Corning Gorilla glass 3 and water repellent coating makes the phone life proof. 5) Camera: In this department, the phone is behind other phones which have 8MP cameras. But still, for a 5MP camera, it takes good photos in day light. But, its bad in dark. Flash is powerful. (Use droidlight by motorola app for using it as a torch) 6)Storage: 16GB version gives you 12.xx GB for use, I feel its good enough for me. Also you may connect an USB/pen drive using the micro usb cable and watch movies/listen to songs. It works on kitkat also without any paid software, you just need a file manager (free). So, overall it's a thumbs up for this phone! PLEASE NOTE (For those who have queries): 1)The service center names which flipkart is sending with the product are old ones, the latest ones can be viewed on in.motorola.com > moto g > customer service > authorized service centers. 2) Those who are complaining that the phone is not genuine : Motorola has officially launched the phone exclusively via flipkart (can be read on their fb, twitter pages), so you will surely get a genuine product. Also, on the moto g box it is written : Imported in India by Flipkart India. 3) Regarding ringtones : Just install a file manager (FX) or use your pc and move the song (which u want to set as ringtone) in ringtones folder. 4) Unable to share mp3 files: this is another rumor spread by anti- moto g reviewers. I have shared audio files a lot of times using moto g. Just use a file manager (FX). So, be care free and order it! It's the best phone ever under 20k. You will surely get a replacement from flipkart if the piece is faulty (which is very rare). Edit: Now as 2nd gen is available, I would suggest to go for 2nd gen unless you want a smaller phone. Also, If this one (16gb Gen 1) is available for less than 10.5k, go for it, best vfm at that price), else spend a few thousand more to get the 2nd gen.

I got this for my mom - My dad has Nexus 4 and that phone is next to perfect. I thought I'll get mom her own Android device, and this fit the bill. Incredible specs - Amazing display (more PPI than my iPhone 5), quad core processor, 1 GB RAM etc and dual sim too. However, most times, my mom is not able to make a call (Unable to Call messages abound). When I try reaching her in either of the SIM, it either doesn't ring or I get 'Out of Service' message. Rebooting the phone temporarily fixes the problem, but eventually problem reappears. The phone shows full signal strength in both SIMs, but, it is both unable to make a call or to receive calls. (Data works with WiFi) I might be hoping foolishly, but I think some software upgrade might fix this. Good phone, may be just my piece is bad. (my bad luck!)

Usb drivers For our Moto G can be downloaded from Motorola support. 1) how to access storage? => connect through any microusb data cable (galaxy fit data cable worked for me), if its not detected automatically, goto settings>storage>click on upper right corner and tick MTP. 2) how to add songs? => just connect ur device to pc and place ur mp3 files in "music" folder only..custom folder name will not work. you can access this songs through play music app. 3)how to add custom ringtone? => if you have custom ringtones in ur previous smartphone then just use motorola migrate, it will do it automatically OR just place ur custom ringtones in folder (media>audio>ringtones). u can place notifications tones also, just create notifications folder in audio and paste in it. U can now set any tone as ur ringtone through sound menu. 4) Kitkat update through usb cable? => Yes u can ! if you don't have a Wifi connection or laptop (to use ad-hock network), then u can update with "Motorola Device Manager". Get it from motorola site and install on pc. Plug your device and it will update ur device through internet. 5) how to redeem Google Drive offer. =>open google drive app and goto menu>take tour, at last you can redeem it with signing in. 6) LED notification not working =>This happens if u have restored data from ur previous phone which did not have LED. Motorola released a widget called Notification Light Widget. Stick it on your home screen, use it to enable the LED, and then you can get rid of it. 7) Poor audio quality of headphones => Guys u r using a cheap headphone that was provided within package..Go for a standard decent headphone. The problem is not with Moto G its due to cheap headphones. You also have equaliser to tweak, Go to Settings > Sound > Audio Effects and customise as per ur need. 8) Moto G won't charge or battery drops suddenly => If you let your Moto G hit zero and it won’t come back to life, try letting it cool down for a while, then plug in a charger and leave it for 20 minutes or so before holding down the power key for 20 seconds. If not worked U r probably dealing with a defective piece, get a replacement. 9) Long time to charge a battery => 3 hrs is a standard time for Moto G to charge fully. It will decrease as battery life decreases. If you want to charge faster then u can buy custom charger rated between 500mA and 1.5A – the higher the rating, the faster it will charge. 10) APN settings/2G,3G not working => Motorola G is unable to detect APN settings itself. So u have to manually set APNs. For that goto settings>dual sim settings>Ur sim name>APNs> now add new and edit settings (search on google for APN settings), now SAVE it and tick blue dot. Restart and ur done ! 11) Developer menu (caution !) => u can activate developer menu by tapping 4-5 times on settings>about phone>"Build number" This is for developers only as name suggest. If u don't know anything about it, then u should leave it as it is. 12) Camera not opening/camera error => well at this time you can't do anything except restarting your moto g,and it will work. It's a bug and it will be fixed soon. Moto G is beautiful smartphone..Loved it so much.
