let me first get rid of those who gives one or two star.....I know,initially phone comes with some glitches.Yes that is also unacceptable from Google But all those issue are now rectified in progressive updates i'm in Lollipop v 5.0.2 and feels great having such an astounding phone.Till today none of other phone get the taste of Lollipop yet recall lollipop was released on 12 Nov 2014... Any phone is dead if it does not get update with time...think twice any phone get better than Nexus 5 in term of Updates pros....(Some of you might haven't noticed this..till you have not this in your hand) 1. phone comes with 4.95 inch display with 445ppi which almost cover 71% of phone you are thinking whats new in this.. ### 1. narrow bezels means screen is almost edge to edge ### 2. ips display are much brighter than super Amoled but lacks accurate color reproduction....Nexus has IPS+ display even better than super Amoled in some points ### 3. due to narrow Bezels height of this device is comparable to other 4.5 inch products available in the market eg. Canvas A1 and Nexus has same height 132mm 2. Google phone means Direct update with no modification #fact 4.3 JB,4.4.4 KitKat and Lollipop all are baked on nexus 5 3. Supports all bands yes all because single product is launched Globally this makes it unsusceptible to tropical location 4. One MOST IMP. thing is Nexus 5 is devloper phone means......... even after the official support period you can get faster unofficial updates from after market rom makers like cyanogenMod,AOKP,Omni,Paranoid etc. 5. At that time and price only one phone come with OIS+.This comes very handy when you are shooting videos 6. LTE under 30k ...... now u can get LTE at ONLY Rs6999 BUT WAIT wait every components has its class here class refers to quality for Eg. Iphone 6 has only 8mp camera (ipad onle 3.2mp) but beat the hell out of other 16mp(nearly double) and (*** components in this case is type of lenses used) 7. Performance is unquestionable.....i never ever feels my phone slow,sluggish or whatever 8. LI-POLY better than LI-ION stand last in term of shelf life as every advantage has disadvantage too li-poly batteries does not has charge density as high as li-ion result in poor battery backup may be these points are enough to convince an intellectual person cons (nothing is perfect) if you play around half of your time then go with 32 gb model,purchase power bank for extra juice and if your an audiophile then go with other doubly stereo speaker phones THATS ALL Nexus 5 -- Beauty with Beast -- the best phone I have had so far Disclaimer -- this review is not for those who always goes with paper specs and are hungry for performance.....this phone is more than sufficient for satisfying needs of daily task encounter don't forget to click on helpful if you find.. Killer Phone

I didn't buy this on fipkart as it was not available then , i am writing this review after using the phone for 10 days. I have also got the kitkat update 4.4.2 . pros : a). The processor is a beast. it handles anything very smoothly , without a single lag. b). the screen is awesome. you would love to watch movies & pictures in this phone. the 4.95 inch screen full hd screen with 445 ppi is the best you can have. c). adreno 330 gpu does amazing work in handling all the graphics d). 2gb ram e) kitkat gives a wonderful android experience f) camera is good , may not be the best in low lighting otherwise good, specially after the update . The HDR+ feature works very nicely. g) if you love gaming , then you will love the phone . h) reading news & magazines feels great in this phone due to the large screen with high resolution. i) it is very light . back panel gives a nice grip. cons a) the major con is the battery. it has a battery of 2300 mah , which is normally good. but this phone has a 5inch screen with full HD, so the sreen drains a lot of battery. nexus 4 had 2100 mah battery. Nexus 5 should have a maor jump in battery. LG G2 has a 3000 mah battery which has the same processor & a 5.2 inch screen. Something like that would have been better. But it still manages to give backup for nearly a day. b) auto brightness of the phone works too well. it gives you more brightness than required , eventually draining your battery c) the speaker sound is very clear but a bit low. could have been better. d) auto rotation feature of screen sometimes doesn't work that well, it is very rare though. TIPS for saving battery 1) switch off wifi scanning(this is a feature to scan for wifi even if the the wifi is off) 2) don't use auto brightness , use manual instead 3) switch to 3G/2G if you are not using LTE network 4) turn on locations(GPS) only when required. I would suggest to buy this phone as it is a great deal at this price. I would give it a 5 star only if they would have given a more powerful batter

POSITIVES: 1)Simply the best phone in this price range,no other phone even comes remotely close. 2)All features included in Nexus 5 are on par or better than the Premium phones available but Nexus 5 will cost you hell a lot lessss and am talking big money (10k less) 3)Kitkat 4.4.2:Only available for nexus phones,which means you are atleast 3 months ahead of all other phone manufacturers in terms of software. 4)Nexus being a flagship phone of Google means it will be the FIRST one to get direct/timely updates from Google as and when it releases any. 5)The Snapdragon 800,Adreno 330 and 2GB Ram all together form a bunch of specifications which are currently the best in the world in handling your phone's Performance,Graphics and Speed. 6)Most of us want a phone which has no lag no matter whatever we throw at it and Nexus 5 is THAT phone.No hangups,No lags! 7)FEATHER-WEIGHT 8)What I absolutely love about this phone is the endearing GOOGLE NOW,this voice command unit delivers BANG ON results and makes this phone so much fun to be around with. NEGATIVES: 1)Not for people who want high-tech cameras.I would suggest those people to go and buy high end phones like NOTE 3 or LUMIA 1020 and end up spending 15k more for it. Having said that it has a pretty decent camera (after 4.4.2 update) and makes no difference to a normal user and its pretty cool with a lot of tools to play around with your pics. 2)Battery should have been better considering it is a high end phone but vast improvement over nexus 4 and hangs on till the end of the day so not that big an issue TIPS TO SAVE BATTERY: 1)Turn off location updates or switch it to battery saving mode. 2)Turn off NFC when not using it. 3)Default brightness is a bit too bright,reducing it will save much of your battery juice. 4)Turn off wifi when not in use. 5)Running phone in ART environment. Doing all these things will increase your battery by atleast 2-4 hours which then suddenly becomes not that bad at all. The phone is well worth your money probably more than that,It is highly recommended for a smartphone lover!

WORST PRODUCT EVER!!!!! Used it for 8 months. Now, Battery is dead, phone isn't getting switched on, neither is it getting charged. Camera quality is the worst, not as given in the features. Charger is faulty. worked for 2 months after buying. I suggest not to buy this!

The Performance of the device is excellent. Finger print Scanner is the Best Part. It has Heating Issues as well as Battery problems but the Performance of the phone compensates for everything else. I bought 16GB, that is a real pain in the neck, do choose a higher memory.

Original price of this product was around 30k and I got it for 22k which is a good bargain for a product like nexus 5. The delivery was quite good, I had not chosen the option of one day delivery but it was delivered 2 days before the expected date, thank you Amazon... For that...Talking about the phone:Reading all the specifications is one thing and using the phone in reality is another. I've been using this phone for around 2-3 months and is quite awesome. It's light, fast, Android (5.1), one body build, and has a good battery backup.. In short it has all those things that a good phone must have..P.s. if you are looking for a new phone go for this.. It's a must buy..

Great Phone for the price

Great phone. After being a Sony (Ericsson) user from last 5 years. This is my first try at a non-sony phone.Very good clarity and clear and smooth touchscreen. Being Nexus I also got the latest update for Lolipop very soon.I used to always prefer sony for two reasons camera and sound.Nexus 5 is as good in both the departments. I get great pictures which dont distort even when i see them on a larget 21' inch monitor. The sound of music player as well as phone is also crystal clear and provides best music experience.WOuld have given it a 5 star but the screen is prone to severe damage if it falls on hard surface at a bad angle like on the bezel or corners or directly on the screen.Overall very satisfied!!

Got Faulty one-Refunded, Placed New One-Works Great

I bought this mobile from Gadget Direct and I got a faulty one. But I dont wanna blame anyone. The quality of the product is great and it is with LG India warranty. I replaced the product and waiting for my refund :) Hope ill buy this Nexus within couple of days.BTW, the fault which I detected in this mobile was, Even though I got full cellular signal in my mobile, when users call me they are getting not reachable. It happens over time and resolves automatically. So I checked in Nexus forum, As many people got this problem and only way LG solved this is by replacement of the mobile.Edited: I placed the order in Amazon for my defective Nexus 5, guess what I bought it from the same seller GADGET DIRECT. But this time the product was great with no defect spotted until today. The only thing was Amazon packet it poorly. Even without opening the package you can say what is inside it. Anyway I am satisfied with the product. :) :) :)

stock android mediocre

stock android. great built quality, have dropped it quite a few times but no damage to the phone. battery life is poor, only 3hrs of screen on time with 3G on 24x7, auto sync on & location on. speaker is not great just average at best. screen is good quality but you can see the pixle grid on it when the screen is turned off. the biggest selling point has to be stock android & google branding, lacking which, the phone would not sell that much

Google stock goodness

Been using this for the past 3 weeks.. Was very confused between this and the one plus one(the one plus is better in nearly all the specs). Finally selected this one as was able to buy it on emi's and service centres fr LG are available easily. At the time of writing this review the one plus one has been launched in India and service centres will follow.Coming back to this phone..after the lollipop update the phone is smoother than ever.. Camera quality is very good and I've used the HDR mode nearly every time for some decent pics.The only area where I've had an issue is with notifications.. The notification light doesn't blink fr calls or messages and hence have had to install a third party app to get it to work.. I'm not sure if this is only fr my handset but there are a lot of people out there facing the same issue(check online forums).The handset is light.. Sound from speakers is a lil on the lower side for the ringer... Screen is good but i miss the contrast of the amoled(my previous galaxy s2)..battery is decent enough to last a day but might require charging frequently based on use.All in all a good handset fr the price.. If you can afford the 32 gb go fr it or hang on fr the OPO to be completely launched here.

Excellent phone with a few compromises.

The nexus 5 is the best phone in this price range, it does come with a small battery & the camera is not the best considering other flagship models but the fact that you get the latest chipset from Qualcomm & the adreno 330 GPU along with 2GB ram & most important of all updates from google for the next 18 months at least makes this phone a value for money product, another stand out feature for me is Corning Gorilla glass 3 which means a screen guard is not required for the screen however some may disagree. Pro & Cons have been discussed in many other reviews so i thought i would state a few battery saving tips. 1) Screen brightness set manually as per requirement & not on auto. 2) Turn Off Google Now if not required. 3) Uncheck Wi-fi scanning even when wi-fi is switched off. 4) Bluetooth,GPS, Wi-fi,NFC & other wireless features switched off when not required. 5)Vibrate on keypress also switched off. 6)Refrain from using Live wallpapers. 7) Keep Widget usage to a minimum & keep as few home screens as possible. 8) Manually update apps switch off auto-updates as constant search for updates online does drain battery. 9) Toggle between 2G/3G as per requirement, especially considering 3G reception is still not great in india. 10) Kill all apps that you dont want running in the background. Some of the above are basic, others are tips which users may not be aware of.

One MOST IMP. thing is Nexus 5 is devloper phone means......... even after the official support period you can get faster unofficial updates from after market rom makers like cyanogenMod,AOKP,Omni,Paranoid etc. 5. At that time and price only one phone come with OIS+.This comes very handy when you are shooting videos 6. LTE under 30k ...... now u can get LTE at ONLY Rs6999 BUT WAIT wait every components has its class here class refers to quality for Eg. Iphone 6 has only 8mp camera (ipad onle 3.2mp) but beat the hell out of other 16mp(nearly double) and (*** components in this case is type of lenses used) 7. Performance is unquestionable.....i never ever feels my phone slow,sluggish or whatever 8. LI-POLY better than LI-ION stand last in term of shelf life as every advantage has disadvantage too li-poly batteries does not has charge density as high as li-ion result in poor battery backup may be these points are enough to convince an intellectual person cons (nothing is perfect) if you play around half of your time then go with 32 gb model,purchase power bank for extra juice and if your an audiophile then go with other doubly stereo speaker phones THATS ALL Nexus 5 -- Beauty with Beast -- the best phone I have had so far Disclaimer -- this review is not for those who always goes with paper specs and are hungry for performance.....this phone is more than sufficient for satisfying needs of daily task encounter don't forget to click on helpful if you find.. I didn't buy this on fipkart as it was not available then , i am writing this review after using the phone for 10 days. I have also got the kitkat update 4.4.2 . pros : a). The processor is a beast. it handles anything very smoothly , without a single lag. b). the screen is awesome. you would love to watch movies & pictures in this phone. the 4.95 inch screen full hd screen with 445 ppi is the best you can have. c). adreno 330 gpu does amazing work in handling all the graphics d). 2gb ram e) kitkat gives a wonderful android experience f) camera is good , may not be the best in low lighting otherwise good, specially after the update . The HDR+ feature works very nicely. g) if you love gaming , then you will love the phone . h) reading news & magazines feels great in this phone due to the large screen with high resolution. i) it is very light . back panel gives a nice grip. cons a) the major con is the battery. it has a battery of 2300 mah , which is normally good. but this phone has a 5inch screen with full HD, so the sreen drains a lot of battery. nexus 4 had 2100 mah battery. Nexus 5 should have a maor jump in battery. LG G2 has a 3000 mah battery which has the same processor & a 5.2 inch screen. Something like that would have been better. But it still manages to give backup for nearly a day. b) auto brightness of the phone works too well. it gives you more brightness than required , eventually draining your battery c) the speaker sound is very clear but a bit low. could have been better. d) auto rotation feature of screen sometimes doesn't work that well, it is very rare though. TIPS for saving battery 1) switch off wifi scanning(this is a feature to scan for wifi even if the the wifi is off) 2) don't use auto brightness , use manual instead 3) switch to 3G/2G if you are not using LTE network 4) turn on locations(GPS) only when required. I would suggest to buy this phone as it is a great deal at this price. I would give it a 5 star only if they would have given a more powerful batter

We all spend a hell a lot of money over mobile phones expecting value for money and our expectations &......Nexus 5 nails this aspect!!! POSITIVES: 1)Simply the best phone in this price range,no other phone even comes remotely close. 2)All features included in Nexus 5 are on par or better than the Premium phones available but Nexus 5 will cost you hell a lot lessss and am talking big money (10k less) 3)Kitkat 4.4.2:Only available for nexus phones,which means you are atleast 3 months ahead of all other phone manufacturers in terms of software. 4)Nexus being a flagship phone of Google means it will be the FIRST one to get direct/timely updates from Google as and when it releases any. 5)The Snapdragon 800,Adreno 330 and 2GB Ram all together form a bunch of specifications which are currently the best in the world in handling your phone's Performance,Graphics and Speed. 6)Most of us want a phone which has no lag no matter whatever we throw at it and Nexus 5 is THAT phone.No hangups,No lags! 7)FEATHER-WEIGHT 8)What I absolutely love about this phone is the endearing GOOGLE NOW,this voice command unit delivers BANG ON results and makes this phone so much fun to be around with. NEGATIVES: 1)Not for people who want high-tech cameras.I would suggest those people to go and buy high end phones like NOTE 3 or LUMIA 1020 and end up spending 15k more for it. Having said that it has a pretty decent camera (after 4.4.2 update) and makes no difference to a normal user and its pretty cool with a lot of tools to play around with your pics. 2)Battery should have been better considering it is a high end phone but vast improvement over nexus 4 and hangs on till the end of the day so not that big an issue TIPS TO SAVE BATTERY: 1)Turn off location updates or switch it to battery saving mode. 2)Turn off NFC when not using it. 3)Default brightness is a bit too bright,reducing it will save much of your battery juice. 4)Turn off wifi when not in use. 5)Running phone in ART environment. Doing all these things will increase your battery by atleast 2-4 hours which then suddenly becomes not that bad at all. The phone is well worth your money probably more than that,It is highly recommended for a smartphone lover!
