After firing our maid who was with us for 1.5 years for irregular attendance & timings, my wife finally decided to buy a dishwasher. Generally It's the other way round as I'm more of a gadget person than my wife. Because I was skeptical about it's efficiency, I was not convinced that "Effective Dishwashing" can be made by a machine. So we started to scour the internet for more information about dishwasher. After one & half months of researching & watching demos we decided to go for Bosch SMS60L02IN (by the way both Bosch & Siemens are from the same company - BSH. Infact both Bosch & Siemens dishwashers have the same body & features/ functions except for the control panel there is absolutely no difference in the machines. Even the sales and service team are the same.)Before deciding on Bosch, I also checked 6 other leading brands (which I do not like to name on this site) but due to reasons like Service issues, Spare parts issues, Memory issues, Overpricing etc. (If you go online & check for reviews of a particular brand, you will get to know the issues with that brand) Because I don't want to talk negatively about other brands/ service issues, I'll give my reasons for deciding on Bosch Dishwasher…1) Bosch as a brand has been around for quite some time.2) German engineered.3) Good features for the pricing offered.4) Discussions with sales representatives and also a few Bosch product owners pointed that there were no after sales service issues. (Very Important)5) NO Memory issues. Dishwasher from a leading brand has an operating issue i.e. 'Memory'. For example: During the running of the machine if there is a power failure inbetween, the machine will start from the beginning of the washing program. Which In turn consumes more time, electricity, water, washing detergents etc. And given the state of present power problems, it makes a Big difference.!BOSCH CUSTOMER CARE:After receiving the Dishwasher we got a call from the service team coordinator for the 'Installation & Demo' of the product and fixed an appointment for it the next day.The service technician did not come on the appointed day but Called & said that he has received the order for the installation & since He was out of town he'll come the next day.As agreed the service technician arrived the next day around 11:30 and started to unpack the Dishwasher which was still packed (Warning to buyers; After receiving the product do not unpack the unit. Wait For the service representative to Unpack at the time of installation). As he proceeded to unpack & install, I noticed a long dent on the left side of the unit near the door and also that the door was a little caved in. I pointed this to the technician & told him that I cannot accept the damaged unit and wanted it replaced. As the procedure he took pictures of the damaged unit and logged in a complaint on my behalf for a replacement.After a few calls & pushing the customer care manager I was coordinating with, the replacement unit was delivered after 2 days and the damaged unit was taken back. As promised by the customer care manager even the service technician came 2 hours later after delivery to install the unit.THE DISHWASHER :After using the dishwasher couple of times in different modes with different vessels, I admit that I'm quite impressed with the results. The vessels we put in the Dishwasher were clean & almost dry except for a couple of them.Guess It'll take us sometime to understand the placement of vessels in the Dishwasher & the program to choose for effective results.For Good washing results, Use good washing detergents. As recommended by Bosch, I'm using "FINISH - Salt, Rinse Aid & Detergent"Hope this review will help prospective buyers to make a wise choice.

I don't know why Indians prefer using hands for washing dishes.Could be:1. Traditionally Indian food is greasy and often overcooked, resulting in VERY dirty dishes. May be they were left unclean by old dishwashers.2. Indian housewives like watching dishes being scrubbed.3. Cost of dishwasher is high, and for small family does not justify the cost.4. For large families, servant labor is cheap.If you can afford, shift to Dishwasher. Don't ask questions and get confused.Watch some internet videos. Don't listen to your maid who floods you will failure reports.Clean! Hygienic! Shining! Less water! less electricity! Fully Automatic! No Drying! No water marks!You will not regret.
