if you are in the market for a grill right nowi would say this is the second best atleast from my experience.when i say grill- i mean a panini press, which i intend to use for panini bread sandwiches, and also occasional grilling of meat. the best grill is a simply hands down - WestingHouse WKCGDF9799-GS Grill Toaster.But, westinghouse is no more a business entity atleast in india, and if you even get one of them refurbished, its hard to get them serviced.Since we cannot go westinghouse, we are simply left with this.if you want a good grill for meat and panini , your prime consideration should be1. wattage2. size of grill surface3. service and supportideally look for a grill upwards of 1500 watts, otherwise you may take upto 20 minutes just grill a single bread sandwich and your meats will be ready after like "forever"this black and decker model is 1750 watts , if im not mistaken and it is closer to the sweet spot. the westinghouse grill also which i have and now hoping to get it serviced somewhere is a sweet 2000 watt grill and it is the best gril i have had.other than this, there are a few newer ones like the hamilton beach , but i was not sure of the service and support as hamilton beach does not even have an indian website.This brings me back to grill above- if you still have to buy a grill in india, with decent after sales support- THIS IS IT!

Grill looks beautiful to look at and has solid feel. Unfortunately the cord length is very very small. the usable length is slightly less that 0.5 meter and it was not able to reach the socket on kichen top. Note you need 16 amp socket for this. Flipkart didn't want to return the product and offered only replacement so felt bad that i got stuck with the product. I didn't care of other reviews about the cord lenght and paid the price. Anyways using it with Jugaad mode and it made the sandwiches nice.

Well, the product works, but there is no instructions or guide to help with the actual cooking. I mean, the manual contains only basic safety and setup rules etc, but there is absolutely no mention about temps. Even the thermostat doesn't have any temperature markings. So you're just gonna have to do trial and error stuff by looking at youtube videos of George Foreman grill - since there aren't many of B&D even there. I wish there was a recipe book/manual for this model with detailed instructions about how long to cook various things and at what temps (thermostat level). Also, as others have said, the coil is stupidly small - just over a foot. It does come with a us-to-Indian adapter for the plug, but it fits (hardly) very loosely in my 15Amp wall socket. All these annoyances aside, the thing works fine. I've had mixed results with chicken. I guess it depends a lot on the piece-size and kind of marinade (or lack thereof). I've grilled fish, but didn't find the flavour of deep fry in mustard oil. Sandwiches are great. 1 tip though - if you're using generous amounts of cheese and want the bread (loafs) a little crispy, then first grill those (the bread) a bit, then put your ingredients inside them and put inside the grill and wait for the "splash" sound which you get when you put food in boiling oil. That's the sound of the melted cheese falling in the grill. Take it out immediately. I've rated it 3 because of the lack of markings, guide and short coil.

It works great with all sorts of food. You could grill chicken in not more than 10 minutes without a drop of oil. Sheer ease of use and the built quality is fine. The only drawback would be the cord length. If you could find a place for it closer to the plug socket, it won't be an issue. Good alternative for the famous "George Foreman" grill.

Fixed grill plates. Non-stick heating plates. Elegant black finish body. The length of the cord is again an issue, as it is very short. It's manageable, as we had to specifically place the grill near the extension cord. Seems a bit overpriced, but it works really well if you like to grill food with any combination. We have used it to grill bread, chicken, fish, meat. It's easy to clean and operate as well. What we mainly liked about it is that they have also provided a removable tray to collect the extra oil sliding off the grill plates. The tray is rarely been provided with the other grills, and later it gets difficult to clean the grill plates. After every use, we easily wipe it clean with a sponge or a wet cloth.
