Not a good phone.
By Pallabgon
I bought this mobile phone from amazon.in in January 2015. The product arrived quickly and I liked the phone initially. There was no significant heat-up problem and all the functions were working. However, after about one and half month's of use, I observed a few very important problems. Often the phone shows full signal but the caller cannot connect to my phone, and the response he/she gets is "the phone is switched off". This problem goes away after restarting the phone. The phone often slows down considerably and appears to have hanged. I am planning to send the phone to the Micromax Service Centre and hope that these problems are solved. However, the service centre is far away from my place of residence and I need the phone regularly. That is creating a problem for me. Recently, I bought a Lenovo S90-A phone (from the Lenovo web site). That phone is functioning very satisfactorily. Both of these phones have similar specifications. The Lenovo S90-A has a smaller screen and its price is higher. However, the Lenovo phone is better in terms of performance. So I recommend the Lenovo S90-A phone, and discourage purchase of the Micromax Canvas Gold phone.
Decent Product Letdown By a Apathetic Micromax
By Kunal Mehtaon
Bought It a Year Back. Good Specifications & Good Looking Premium Phone. 2 Ghz True Octa Core Processor is a Decent Speed To Have Even in Late 2015. Good 1080p Display. Initially Came With Software Version T.22 Which Divided The Limited 32GB Storage (No Ext SD Card Support) Between Apps & Internal SD. Thankfully, Version T.26 Of Stock ROM Fixed This Issue & Brought in Unified Storage. No More 'App Storage Running Out' Warnings. Anyone On Older T.22 Version MUST Upgrade To T.26. Just Google a 'How To' For Detailed Guides On It.Cons: Biggest: WORST WIFI On Any Phone EVER. Beyond Pathetic.& For This Single Reason Alone, I Will NEVER Buy Another Micromax Product Ever. Also, No Software Updates From Stock KitKat Though This Phone is Fast Enough To Support *Many* Future Upgrades. Lack Of Custom ROMs Also a Huge Drawback. No Accessory Support. Cheap Custom Made Back Covers Only. Totally Worthless.Buckle Up Micromax. (& Yes, Shortchange a Customer With a Pathetic WiFi Receiver & U WILL Lose a Customer For Life. Remember That. Don't Assume Ppl Won't Observe & U'll Get Away With it). (FYI, I Have 3 Of These Handsets & Checked WiFi On All. I'm Judging The WiFi After Detailed Comparison With Different 'Same Phones' & Different Models as Well).
Very good mobile for the price range.
By Laijuon
Good mobile with that price range. Been using this mobile for more than 2 months now.Pros:Very happy with the camera both front and back takes really good picture (even in night macro pictures with flash).Display is awesome.Runs any high-end games with out any lagsNo lags faced be it browsing or any other apps.32GB storage is good.2GB RAM performs really well.OTG USB - very useful so that you keep all videos and mp3 in it and use it when required.Cons:Battery performance, (lasts max 1 day with very minimal usage).Non-Removable battery.Gets heated up when you play some high end games, not that bad but yes it gets heated.Memory not supported.I have attached 2 low light images (with flash)
micromax canvas Gold - A real GOLD in every respepct
By R M.on
Micromax Canvas Gold A 300, a real GOLD in every respect, looks, performance(so far) and everything. I was thinking of Lenovo Vibe or Samsung Grand, but later went for Micromax. Better than the other two in every respect for almost half price. Good delivery service my Amazon. Thank you Amazon. will give you a detailed review later after using the product well. The rear and front camera is awesome. I have gifted my Nikon coolpix s 3600 to my cousin as this phone's camera is much better than that. It is a complete package of phone, digital and movie camera. Don't waste money on Samsung and other so called 'high end ' brands. Go for it. You will never regret !!!Thank you Amazon for giving me the product for INR 13500I bought this phone in last January. I can't find words to describe the qualities of this phone. It's quite awesome in every respect. Why wasting money over Samsung and Sony. This Indian brand beats everyone. Recently I bought another Micromax Phone (Canvas Xpress2) which is also really good. Thank you Amazon and Thank you Micromax
A beast outta juice....

Hey guys this is an In-Depth review for the canvas gold A300. The device is rigorously tested and rated by me so that you may clear your doubts on this phone.1) Looks: The canvas scores a 8.5 on 10 for its sleek 6.9 mm metal unibody design. I don't know why some people confuse it with I phone. Maybe it draws some clues with the design elemen tbut nowhere near the I phone. Overall the phone looks sturdy and solidly built AND can withstand a drop from your mobile docking station. Still, I'd recommend buying some clothes for it to protect its beauty.2) Performance: I don't know why people look upon Micromax as a lagger in the competition. I have been using this phone for around 8 months and trust me, it beats the s*** out of samsung, motorola, sony or any other smartphone (other than Xiaomi Mi3 which is now discontinued). It can run any task you throw at it, be it HD games, FHD videos, etc. its performance makes my friends go green with envy. The AnTuTu benchmark gave me a score of 32,241 which beats the samsung note 3 neo(31,984). Here the phone scores 8 on 103) Battery: Ahh...Here comes the nemesis of this phone. The battery. The 2300 mAh mattery just can't cope up with the power hungry MTK6592T processor (which is a true octacore processor) and the GPU Mali 450 MP. One may think that it has a better mAh than moto g or g2 (2070mAh), but the processor is so hungry that it drains 2 or 3% even if it is idle for half an hour or so. You may find it tough to just eeke out a day's worth of usage if you are a heavy gamer like me. If you are looking for a phone with better battery, consider Gionee M series or the moto series. I'd rate the battery performance as a complete failure i.e 3/10.4) Camera: Another field where This phone scores. The primary camera is stellar, capturing minute details in well lit conditions. Though I'd like to mention that the refresh rate seems a bit slow. So you need to have really steady hands while Using this for photography. One case of concern is that the reviews say it has an exmor sensor, but neither in the manual nor on the box did i find any mention of Exmor. Nevertheless you wont be dissappointed with the clarity. The front snaper is good enough for the pics to be shared on Social networking sites. I'd give this 7.5/105) Network: The phone hangs on to the slightest signal though it may show you that the network coverage has suddenly dropped to a single bar. The call quality is nice and could have been louder. The surprising thing is that it'll drop Wi-Fi pretty easily, even where phones like the primitive Samsung Galaxy Star and LG optimus latch on. Maybe a bug in the baseband version or a problem in KitKat, but I hope this will be solved in future updates. The phone scores a 7/10.6) Music: I dunno why , but the music output you get depends greatly on the the earpiece you use. I have tried the one in the box, One of HTC, Jabra, Philips, Sony and found out that the phone doesn’t support the ones with mic properly (apart from the one given in the box). So when you go buying earphones don’t consider the ones with mic and carry the phone along so that you can test it. Overall the performance is nothing special to write about but not bad either. I’ll rate it a neutral 5/10.That’s it guys. I hope you must have found this review helpful. I’d be updating this review when the lollipop update is launched for this phone.
