Elegant shooter for pennies

Okay, first off this was launched at a price tag of 34k in late 2012, now available for 11k or so. I'm using XF1 for about a month now and in my opinion there is nothing close to this camera in sub 20k category. For results you can visit
facebook.com/lightplaybypalash most of the shots are taken with my XF1.
Images are noise free till ISO800, ISO1600 and ISO3200 are usable and can be processed according to user's taste in ACR easily as this shoots in RAW.
JPEGs produced by any Fuji X series has always been praised across the review world.
Focusing is good and snappy, won't please a DSLR owner as phase detect af is absent(Buy Fuji XQ1 for phase detect and what not).
49 Focus points comes in handy. Macro is good giving enough DOF and zero need for post processing.
Fuji's are known for their natural color reproduction, this one's no exception, colors are bright, punchy, natural and clean.
Manual zoom is a boon giving precise control over framing the subject.
Max aperture of F/1.8 is only available at 25mm and drops considerably as you zoom in. Bokeh produced at 1.8 is pretty good.
Lowlight performance is incredible, most of the time i find myself using ISO 100 in indoor lighting condition which is rare for a compact camera.
OIS or optical image stabilization works great, if you have steady hands, shutter speeds of 1/4 sec too can give you clear photos.
EXR modes likes pro low light and High dynamic range works wonderfully well. Dynamic Range is great considering how small the sensor is. DR400 can easily preserve highlights without underexposing the shadows.
The camera has retractable lens mechanism which feels okay-ish. Overall body is solid aluminium and art leather, Feels very very premium. Has a feel good factor to it's design.
Full manual controls are well laid out with 2 adjustment dials one mode dial one fn button and one E-Fn button which then expands the total no. of custom buttons to 7.
Form factor is great and the camera can easily slip into skinny jeans.
Screen is beautiful even though the resolution is less, images look lifelike.
The 2/3'' EXR cmos sensor has been a straight lift from Fuji X10 which is much costlier. Sensor is capable of capturing great details as the 25-100 lens is very sharp even at 25mm.
Manual focus with focus peeking is there, but it is useless.
Shutter delay is non existent, shot to shot time is very good at .5 secs.
It has everything and anything you can ask for at a very shamefully lower street price.
Better option- Fuji X10(18k these days) or Fuji XQ1(16k).
But for the money you're paying, there is nothing to complain about.
Should anyone buy this as a travel cam- definitely. As a hobbist- Why not! As a pro- NO(less DOF for portraits).
Thats it from my side, for any questions or details, visit the facebook page and drop a message, i'll be happy to help!
we are use this camera from 1 year left. we are purchase on this seller this is atractive camera now is very discounted price any one can by and start our save all moment of life.....
A decent camera

Being a Dslr user, I must say that this is a nice camera at this price. The image sensor is large and it shows in the images. Image quality and looks are where its strengths lie and user interface is a bit let down. A few advanced modes are a bit difficult to hunt down. But of course, fn and e fn buttons reduce the pain to a great extent by providing options to keep alternate shortcuts to such functions.
Fujifilm did not provide a camera pouch or case and it is left to the buyer to search for it. I did not find any case that fits it till now. I have to visit a camera store offline to check if any case fits it.
After watching reviews of XF1 online, I was confused to buy this camera.Image quality was reported very good but some were complaining about lens focus error problem.Still i could not resist myself from buying this beautiful looking and large sensor camera.
There are many options like canon s110,s120,s200 or nikon P330,340.but expensive.
I was also looking for panasonic LF1 but its not available in india. All these models have 1/1.7 inch sensor against 2/3 inch sensor of XF1.So naturally, XF1 will give as good images.e
I also have olympus XZ1 and Canon S90.I compared images XF1 with these two models and images were good from them all.So what makes XF1 against these?
1.Images are good
2.Flash is manually operated ( same as XZ1)
3.Looking very beautiful
4.There is a option to blur background same as DSLR.Here, XF1 captures two images rapidly and merge them into one image that looks with blurred background.
5.Lens is slow than XZ1 so, low light image zooming in XZ1 is better than XF1.
6.There are XER modes which give more better images but at 6mp only.Camera sets Auto ISO but images looks clean at unknown ISO.
7.Panorama mode is better in XZ1.No panorama in any canon ever.
8.Image stabilization is better in XZ1 ( as my observation though)
9.Fn and eFn buttons provide extra shortcuts for ISO,Focus,Quality,Face ,WB, etc so opertaion is fast.
10.XZ1 has very less functions than XF1.
11.XF1 is smaller than Oly XZ1.
12.XZ1 is made in Japan and feels sturdy,XF1 is china made and it reflects.
13.Both camera have good LCD display.
14.XF1 flash power cannot be adjusted like Oly XZ1.
15.XF1 can take photos in video mode, thats nice to have.Oly XZ1 cannot!
16.Video of XF1 is better than XZ1. Oly XZ1 video is always focus hunting.
(***Why all manufactures are naming their cameras like XZ1,XF1,LF1,LX1,XE1,.....etc.....
Learn from canon and Nikon.....S90,S95,S100,P300,P340 sound less confusing)
**Still prefer motorized zoom, manual zoom is time consuming and confusing for many. Its difficult to handover the camera to new member as manual lens requires step by step training!!
**Hope Fuji have solved lens focus error in this batch!!!
Overall, good camera with good image quality and lots of features and HD video and cheap price. But if u like.
