Terrible product
By Ashok Burnwal on
Very bad condition,it looks like used and old one.
Horrible - Very bad product.

This is purely duplicate of Transcend. When i copy the folders in the pen-drive it automatically shows empty data after some time.
If you guys depend on the pen-drive data then you are gone.
Good but could have been the best.

I would like to say that the device looks nice and has a simple but still elegant design.
Fits in the hand comfortably.
But there are some problems
1) Its black glossy finish is full of scratches within 2 days of medium use. - so the finish could have been better.
2)Its new technology makes it undetectable especially on older systems who ask for drivers or say that the USB device is not recognizable.
So buy it only you all have some pretty new hardware to deal with.
3) speed is not great but respectable and certainly more than USB 2.0.
4)Also the device is in FAT32 format initially ...convert it to NTFS format to allow transmission greater than 7 GB files.
I am getting about 30 Mbps read/write speed on USB 2.0 and about 75-90 Mbps on USB 3.0.
Blue LED light looks good.
Its quite plastic so feels cheap sometimes and yes the cap has to remembered all the time else it can get lost easily.
VERDICT - All in all a very good pendrive for the space and speed hungry as long as you don't have any problem with the scratches and the plasticky feel but TRANSCEND has still a long way to go to make the best USB 3.0 pendrive.
One month after buying it, it stopped working. Next month was spent on calling different place (including Flipkart) to figure out who actually honors the warranty. After finding that, next 4 months were spent on calling them to figure out when is the right time to get it replaced. Apparently, Transcend's warranty web site (!!!) was down the whole time and with out that no replacement.
After submitting the godforsaken product for replacement it is another 3 months of waiting as the product has to go to Singapore and come back. Sure, send it on a world tour if you are at it.
Lesson learnt:- NEVER buy Transcend products.
My cousin bought it for my from LetsBuy.com, which is now taken over by flipkart.com, for ?1599.00.
My requirements were:
1. Large Storage - to copy files such as images of large software like Visual Studio, SQL Server etc. and HD movies.
2. High Speed - to copy such large amount of data, I needed (extra-)high speed.
It's solutions:
1. Storage - I have never found 29.4 GB of available memory to be insufficient.
CASE: Once I had to copy pieces of data of more than 65 GB. But it never bothered me to take them in the second trip (with 8 GB Kingston DT during the second trip to carry remaining data).
2. Speed -`
CASE 1: Ah! I was literally amused to see the data getting copied at 19 MB/s (both read and write) on my DELL Mini 10v (Inspiron 1011).
CASE 2: How do you think I would have felt when I saw the data being copied at 40-45 MB/s (both read and write) on my college computers (HCL desktop with Intel Dual Core CPU/2 GB RAM)?
Trust me, both of the above cases were with USB 2.0 ports!
REPORTED INFO: A friend of mine told me that "Blue port????? ??? ????? speed ???." It means, it has the same speed through USB 3.0 port also. But I don't remember the brand name of the laptop.
Two things I found with the speed are
- It varies with machines. So don't expect the top speeds on every computer.
- It certainly performs better than USB 2.0 flash drives.
Bottom line: I recommend it for everyone. It's worth paying for this incredible device.
