Take a powerful mini pc and turn it into a portable powerhouse with this...

Below was my earlier review. And I wrote it, owing to the fact that when you open the NVidia control panel, it says 'You are not currently using a display attached to an NVidia GPU." That message was disappointing. But yesterday, I thought to run some tests. So I hooked up this monitor to my Alienware Alpha R2 and, one after the other, turned on two of the heaviest games I own: Doom 2016 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate. They run smoothly when I use my HDMI 24" FHD monitor. Now since, according to the message, this monitor is not using my NVidia 960 GTX, I assume the games would run on the on-board Intel HD 5000, so they shouldn't work, or lag so much, that it's equal to not working. But surprise!!! The run like a charm. The only explanation remains that this USB 3.0 monitor does indeed use the NVidia 960 GTX for the games, but the NVidia control panel can only detect an HDMI display, and does not process a USB display. That's a minor error. Overall, an AWESOME purchase...!! Thanks ASUS.***I had been looking for a portable monitor for a while now, for my Alienware Alpha R2. The prevailing choices in full HD I had were this Asus monitor, the one from GeChic and Gaems M155. GeChic turned out to be way beyond my budget, and Gaems M155 is available for purchase only in the US, so I finally went for this. The only problem in this is that it takes video input from the USB port, and not from the HDMI. Which renders it unable to use the NVidia graphics card on my system, and instead runs on the Intel chipset graphics driver. That's a bummer, as I cannot play high end games on the go. But good enough for working when I take my system out of home. The only option to fix that problem is to get the Gaems M155 through some kind soul travelling back from the US. ***
