Class is back!
By Fazal Ahamedon
Nokia has cleanly pulled it off this time. The design is simply awesome and feels premium and worth what you pay. For those you crib about the price, please do a little research about the making of the Nokia N9 (basically the same shell for the Lumia 800). Its engineering perfection.
Coming to the software- its brilliant. Its a great change from the current crop of phone OS.
Bluetooth file transfer not there- its secure, your iphone can't do it.
Apps- how many people have downloaded thousands of apps on their smartphone? WP7 has a decent collection apps for most needs and they work brilliant.
Software bugs- Yes, there was an issue and no more. Every platform does have teething issues when launched. No issues whatsoever now.
Processing power- Today most people use computers to browse the internet and do basic chores. We really don't require multi core processors but we still want the latest! We're human and never satisfied. WP7 works brilliantly on a single core, does not freeze and delivers a smooth experience which NO android phone can match.
One needs to use WP7 to appreciate the brilliance.
Thanks Nokia for bringing the brilliant Lumia 800, we'll miss the curved glass display on the Lumia 900 (its sad).

I have purchased this phone 3 weeks back from flipkart. I got the product within time. The phone is having pros and cons.
Pros:
1. good user interface
2. good phone for internet applications
3. good phone for documents(i.e word, excel, and pdf etc.)
cons:
1. Very few free apps available
2. not upgradable to windows 8
3. White lumia is a bit slippary
4. contacts and message sync feature not availabe in zune
Nokia has lost it
By Arpit Kumaron
With that hardware and that specification, Nokia must be completely out of its mind to sell this for the price its selling it for. They are already behind in the game, they would be well advised to think less about profit and more about market presence.
Amazing - Nokia back in business
By Sumit Kumaron
I was one of the initial users of Android and the most refreshing feeling when I got Nokia Lumia 800 into my hands was the speed, with no lags at all. The battery life is good too, I just recharge it every night and it lasts full day with 3G usage on all the time. The camera is on par with most smartphones in this range. But the best part is the display which just blows you away. The white fonts on the dark display appear just as if "written" using a pen on top of the screen!
Windows Phone is an amazing and refreshingly new OS. While Android was a blind and blatant copy of iOS, WP is quite innovative in terms of tiles, the big and clear fonts and the grouping of contacts. While much has been talked about the lack of apps as compared to Android and iOS, in my opinion almost all the useful apps that we need ARE there. Notable absentees are the apps for Google products like Google Maps, YouTube etc. (no surprises there, given the competition between Google and Microsoft), but there are alternative "unofficial" apps which are in some cases even better than the official Google apps on Android.
Coming to some of the drawbacks, the biggest letdown is the lack of access to file system, and thereby no effective way of using the phone as a storage medium to use the 16GB usage. However, Zune does the job well for photos, music and videos. MS Office documents can be stored on SkyDrive and can be edited on the phone version of MS Office.
The phone internet can't be used on laptop, but Nokia has "promised" to provide the tethering feature via an update (now I know why Airtel provided 2GB of free 3G usage with this phone for three months! I am having to burn the 2GB watching YouTube videos!)
Overall, it is a big recommend. Go by the attractive and sturdy build of Nokia and the speed and beauty of Windows phone.
Great Phone
By Shaanon
I bought this phone, its a wonderful phone. Seamlessly integrates your social sites content with your phone book.
Its fast, easy to exit applications.
n Yes! Windows market place has many good apps. My favourite is the compass.
The battery life is a draw back. I need to recharge it every evening.( I keep my phone at max. brightness)
Yes there are some glitches.. such as when we keep the phone between shoulder and ear.. the microphone gets completely covered and the voice doesn't pass through.
n yes! one gets silicon rubber case along with the phone inside the box.
Great Phone! Buy it! or wait for Lumia 900.
