Jack of All Trades, master of what u make of it
By Dr. Jagmeeton
Huge Laptop that can be a Tablet (folded 360degrees), has a good touchscreen, crisp display!Battery life is totally depending upon ur usage, u work a lot with Wifi and heavy browsing u get 3-4 hours of working time, otherwise just watching content or working on word or similar u may get 6 hours.Heating is not a problem as long as vents are not blocked, so keep of hard flat surfaces(tables) or if placed on beds etc give it some room to breath.Idle usage is low, doesnt heat up while idle. Heats up a bit while gaming.Surprisingly windows High performance power mode makes the laptop heat up while gaming Asphalt or some 2013 titles, but if u play same games on HP recommended power setting, games run the same UX but computer isnt hot anymore fan noise isnt noticaable.Speakers are on under surface, so when not on a table they do seem not loud enough, BUT, if u have a good audio source, FLAC or a good youtube video the speakers are truly loud enough, mostly its about how good an audio we r playing. On a table the sound gets reflected off so truly amazing sound experience. Also its a metallic laptop so the whole things gives off sound, sound quality is good. Earphone jack delivers high quality and high volume no problems on that.Hinge seems sturdy and tight enough, when u touch or click with touch screen the screen goes back ever so slightly but that seems about reasonable to me given the fact its a huge 15.6 inch screen and a slightly larger panel so ought to be heavy!key board is good, number pad on side is a rare blessing.Backlit key board -Yesonly On and Off for backlight, no gradation in the backlighting.Spacebar misses to register a space when typing quickly and u press the peripheral extent i mean on the right or left edge of spacebar, it misses to register the space sometimes. Just letting u know that u dont freak out, keys and spacebar are OK otherwise.Video encoding is disappointingly slow to the extent i didnt encode a second video......its a DUAL core and u r reminded of it while video encoding, so kindly do your research about ur use case scenario.Windows built in Video/Screen Mirroring works, near flawless, Audio sometimes doesnt get transmitted or sometimes u need to disable the builtin speakers so that Miracast takes the sound. Its a totally usable tech solution here, u can demonstrate or do a bit of presentation. I have watched a few movies.HDMI to a big screen is no problem, duplicate or extended no heating up or any slowness. Even on battery alone u can hook up to HDMI to a big screen and watch a movie and it should last 3 hours no problem. It is big for a tablet usage, BUT it is a useful size to have a folded huge touch screen computer, if u have 2 3 ppl to brainstorm on the same screen its good feature to have, nobody forces u to use it, its doesnt get u a disadvantage.Network performance is good, even at the edge of range of router. BUT when u r far from router and the normal laptop mode wifi is performing great, the moment u fold the laptop into tent or Tablet mode the wifi though still connected fails to deliver the high speed it was giving in the normal laptop mode. I did all updates i have tried my way around. May be anniversary update fixes it but i think its a hardware or design thing that covers the receiver of wifi, because a 500-1000KBPS transfer rate just falls to 30-40 its irritating. near a router it is not a problem(Case control :D proving its a signal receiving issue)Old games Grid 2 or F1 2014 are playable at fullHD I am not much into gaming, neither is this laptop. Aspahlt 8 works well, GT Racing 2 works well looks great on this fullHD so im content,Indexing on Win10is BAD BAD BAD, coming from windows 8.1 i hit start button and type my filename that i want and it WONT find it. that may make u feel laptop is slow, it is not, BLAME WINDOWS 10.I have done a fair month and a half of exploiting travel and working in this laptop, its good, 3 years definitely hopefully more.As of yet i havent attempted any dual boot. REcovery options require u to make a DVD set or USB stick(16GB would do, it says so at the last step), BUT, BEWARE, RECOVERY SOFTWARE BACKUP onto a Storage media through HP software can only happen once, and u better not lose this DVD or USB stick, Because, when ur Hardisk crashes(God forbid) or u want a bigger, newer, faster, SSDer Hardisk u will need this usb stick/dvd to put back ur original windows 10 into this laptop, it would also help with warranty if u have and want to claim.RAM is DDR3 not 4. not much of a problem yet, but i do feel i shall upgrade to more ram later just because i can. SSD i dont trust the tech yet, it crashes in 9-12th month of usage as per my research. so i didnt buy an SSD laptop and neither have i swapped this laptop's HDD yet. When we get dependable SSD may b in future i shall swap it. This laptop allows you to change hardDisk, thats my point. There was a windows update in between causing blue screen of death, i reverted to a system restore and it was fixed. I have a feeling that over time this laptop would improve simply because windows Might improve. You will start clicking the touch screen after the initial few weeks, its actually useful to just point something out, pinch zoom or just move it out. also when showing some document or spreadsheet to another person the stand mode or tablet mode makes a better impact and the touch screen surely helps. Remember its a work laptop that can quench content consumption too.Touchpad is GOOD, some would say its not Macbook level, its not, also its not that expensive, so take ur pick. there are multifinger gestures in this laptop dont know they r from hp or win10 but they work.Looks pretty good. Looks thinner than it is, due to design tricks, its not as thin as those folio or spectre kind of HP laptops but when i saw this in store in the flesh, i was content with its thickness, its manageable, but thinner options exist. This computer is ur average Joe not a GAMER not a VIDEO/Photo EDITOR, not a flashy thing, not a boring midranger, its i7 decent specced it works, it lasts 4-5 hours of work, looks decent not too shouty and not too cheap. would u want it?

Yes they "DONT ENTERTAIN" when it comes on "POST SALES SERVIVES",
Laptop/Smartphone companies should replace battries while issue in warranty period.
But !!!!!!!!Suggesting Lenovo !!!!!!!...........????? LENOVO IS CHINESE and apart from being CHINESE Lenovo is a complete disgusting brand, With lenovo one will feel like ALIEN. My friend had it he stopped using it and always borrowed mine.
