Sub-standard Product.

Since i own both, i would say that as compared to UV filters manufactured by KEMKO (10% cheaper than HOYA), this HOYA filter is very poor in terms of quality.
Highly disappointed.
It is made in Phillipines, not in Japan... :(

Flipkart delivered on time.
Looks like filter I received is made in Phillipines, not in Japan...
So I am not so sure about the quality & durability of the product the this moment.
But
I will re-post it if I come across any durability issue with the filter.
Made in Phillipines not Japan !!!!
By Kumaraswamy Muddalingaiahon
As usual Flipkart delivery is good.
But the catch is , the filter I received is made in Phillipines , not in Japan, usually the filters made in Phillipines is low quality or not coated !!!!!!!
I have asked Flipkart for a replacement , let me see if they respond. Usually for the price quoted here , you get a Japan filter !!!!!!!
Excellent Product
By Anosh Sequeiraon
Firstly, as some others have already mentioned, the flipkart service was great.
Secondly, from the research I've done, digital cameras do not really struggle with UV light, that was a problem faced by film cameras. However, what this does do is an excellent job of protecting your lens.
This particular product has really saved me a lot of stress (and possibly some money) within the first two weeks of owning it. In a dusty city like Mumbai, if a kid is going to be using the camera or even with friends at parties who don't understand DSLRs and touch the lens (don't want to have their pic taken and put their hand on the lens) it is a must have. I'm much happier cleaning this lens filter rather than the glass on my lens. (hot breath and a spectacles cleaning cloth does the trick)
The only con on this is it is supposed to affect your image quality very slightly, but unless you're a pro or making extremely large sized prints you will not be able to tell the difference. I know I haven't. Plus it's really easy to put on and take off if you want to.
If you own more pricey lenses go for the pro version of this Lens Filter, worth spending a little more for the additional IQ.
I use this filter on my 18-55 IS kit lens and my 55-250 IS lens
I hope this review helps you.
Filter is strictly ok
By Arun Venkatesanon
The filter is ok, does the job. However, during my very first outing with it, I put the camera back in its bag with the filter attached to the lens but forgot to put the lens cap. And guess what? The coatings came off a small region of the lens. And to think about it being a multi-coated filter....disappointing.
