First, this keyboard is NOT original keyboard by HP/COMPAQ.On the product page, it is shown as Lapkit, but what they sent is not by Lapkit. It is by MV Infotech. Also, the pictures shown on the product page and what i received don't match. On the product page, back of the keyboard is black, what i received has bare aluminum back, without black sticker/film. It seems the manufacturer skipped fitting black sticker/film on the back to cut cost.The name of the manufacturer is not mentioned on the carton of the keyboard. It is probably it is made in China, but it is written: MARKETED BY: MV Infotech. It is in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is NOT a LAPKIT product. It is only a compatible (matching) keyboard. As for quality, it looks good, but don't know it will last long.There is 3 screw holes. But one of the screws is not aligning properly with the hole on the back of laptop even after adjusting the keyboard. I looked inside the hole and it is clearly not aligning at all. So, i could not use 1 use screw. Only 2 screws are holding the keyboard in place.Note: screws are not provided. How many rupees is the manufacturer trying to save by not providing just 3 screws?? If you have already removed your old keyboard and lost the screws, it is too bad. We can't get laptop screws in computer hardware shops easily. Computer and laptop screws are sold in small boxes at high prices. So, my request to manufacturer: Please provide screws!!What differences I noticed between the original keyboard and this compatible version?1. On the back of original keyboard, there is black film/sticker pasted on it covering the whole keyboard. This compatible version has no black film/sticker. It is bare aluminum. Please see attached pics.2. On the original keyboard, the 4 flat prongs that is below the last row of keys, for holding the keyboard are black in color, but this compatible keyboard has no black prongs. It is bare aluminum. After fitting the keyboard, if you look below the spacebar, you can see a slight gap showing aluminum prongs. But you can apply a black tape on the prongs to hide it. On the original keyboard, there is no gap.After fitting the keyboard, there is small bulge on spacebar and nearby keys. I kept heavy books on it overnight to flatten the bulge, but it didn't help. But all keys are working ok. You can watch YouTube videos on how to change the keyboard. If you want to change the keyboard yourself, You have to remove 3 screws of the keyboard on the back of the laptop. Please note that one of the screws is under the cover of the RAM slots. You have to remove RAM slot cover.Overall, this product is ok for if you are light user. Can't say letters on the keys will fade or not. Can't say the keys will not break. The quality will of the product will be known only after using for a few months. If you type forcefully, original keyboard too will break.Cons:1.Incorrect pictures and incorrect brand name shown on product page2. Screws not provided3.Screw hole alignment issue
