This is one of most oldest models by Linksys, but it is still rock solid. I purchased this a year back and it has been running almost 24x7 without a restart. Flashed it with tomato and I can use it as whatever I want - router, repeater, access point. The stock firmware is also good, but if you want to get the best out of this router, you should flash with DD-WRT or Tomato. Both the firmwares unlocks the capabilities of the router. I even managed to extend the antenna power - the wireless range is just awesome :D
The only con is that it does not support the new Wireless N technology - meaning you will be limited to 54mbps wireless speed (Wireless G)!
This is a wireless G router...not worth it

I do not understand the pricing logic of this wireless g router. The antenna gain is just 2.5 dbi per antenna. In TP link ones @ 1700 Rs., it's 5dbi /antenna. I own one. Of course it's good but the range is not comparable to any of the new wireless n routers available. In my apartment, the signal strength drops by 90% at the corners. 4500 rs is ridiculous.
Using it for over two years now

i have been using it over two years now and no issues so far. The piece i ordered earlier had some technical issues but Flipcart replaced it. The replacement was done in smooth and hassel free manner .. thanks to Flipkart. Since then i am very happy the way it is performing .. we use one laptop, one playstation and two cell phones on this network .. performance is great !!

This is one of the oldest work horses (b&g wifi) from Linksys that I have owned since many years.
- Powerful range in a 3bhk
- Professional support for setting & trouble shooting (similar to Apple & Dell)
- Easily configurable
- Extremely reliable signal quality and strength (no loss of data packets)
- Connects with laptops, smartphones, tablets etc
- Rock solid configurable security features (multiple devices MAC ID lock plus access password)
I do not have any negative comment(s) yet regarding this product.
If you want anything rugged and long lasting ( it doesn't look modern though), suggest you to look no further.

I found the Cisco Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Linux Router to be fair enough for experimenting upon with OpenWRT.
surprised to see the poor performance.

in a 200 square feet room not providing a proper range... surprised to see the poor performance.. seating next to router still the wifi range is one or two point indicator only... please don't buy ..No return policy...and amazon does't take responsibility of returning the same.... very bad service by amazon.....

Limited Range, almost obsolete product when new dual band AC routers are available for almost same price.

Product is fine but pretty outdated. Setup is not easy and you should really know your IP/DNS/Gateway details to configure it. Manual configuration takes ages.Delivery was delayed by over a week even after repeated attempts. Supplier was least concerned with timely delivery and had no clue about package status.Returned it as setup took forever and range was limited.
