Certain clarifications you really need to know before buying this
By Prabir Dason
This is a dobsonian type telescope, so it does not look FAMILIAR. It is a illusion that it gives 180x zoom. For those who know physics, by simple calculation its magnification is
=(length of hollow tube)/ (focus of lens).
In this package, u get 4mm and 20mm lens and tube length is 300mm. So max and min power is 300/4=75x and 300/20=15x. However u may get 180x zoom if u buy accessory kit, which would cost another 3000rupees and not easily available too. BUT the good thing is 75x is lot more than u think. But if u go for another telescope, make sure u know the actual power.
MY EXPERIENCE:- flipkart delivery was quick. the price was down, but i know the reason why, one of the base stand was broken and few minor defects which did not alter its performance.
I saw my neighbor, birds on the tree far away, mountain and the city form the terrace(more of a binocular). At night i saw the moon, craters , stars appear as dot! but till now i did not get to see any planets! :( Again, make sure u do enough research before buying.
Informations that you need to know

This telescope does not provide 180x magnification readily.I learnt this thing after I received this product. The containing box says maximum magnification that can be obtained is 75x.Then whats the 180x thing?
Every telescope come with its own focal length, light gathering capability and aperture length properties. These all 3 are very significant.Your ultimate magnfication is the division result between telescope's focal length and eyepieces focal length. This particular telescope's focal length is 300mm.So with 4mm eyepiece u get maximum of 300/4 = 75 times magnification. That's it.All clear?
But here is another catch. You may thing that according to the formula,a 2mm eyepiece will give you 300/2=150 times magnification, right?Well it will do so as it is below the maxiumum magnification of 180x.But the image quality will not be satisfactory and definitely not acceptable for terrestrial watching. When you use lower focal length eye pieces, image will become more blurred.Hence it is necessary to look at he telescope's own focal length(which is for this particular scope =300mm).Another useful formula comes here.
The focal length of a telescope is directy proportional to the price of the telescope ...
:-(
Aperture of telescope gives you the maximum useful magnification which is 180x here.
Light gathering capability of telescopes usually lie around 100x.So u may ignore this parameter.
This telescope needs a flat surface to be placed on,wich is troublesome.Better to use those with tripods.
I have learnt this things myself.I had returned this scope when I aw max mag is 75x and Flipkart was kind enough to refund me my money.Later I bought travelscope 70 but that too not flawless but in my opinion,is way better than this.
Lesson ends here...
Not good as expected
By Tauceef Sheikhon
I bought this Telescope one month ago after comparing with other scopes this one was under my budget and also the zoom mentioned on the Flipkart site seems impressive in this price range, but after using this from last one month it doesn't seems to be 180x scope.
I am able to see moon and only moon tried to see other planets like Jupiter and Saturn but not as good as expected. Was searching on net on how to use it in better way found that I can use a Barlow lens to increase it's zoom, looking forward to buy that but it's not available online.
I have read one comment from one buyer that he/she is able to see the Saturn rings but I can't with this scope.
Flipkart should display the actual figures and not fool the buyers.
Also the box I got was not sealed and the products mentioned in the provided manual are not delivered with the product like Moon filter, Carry bag and other.
Awesome telescope fairly good service by flipkart !!!

Got this telescope about 1-2 months back and was disappointed by the way it was packed .
After opening my heart broke after seeing a small crack in the secondary mirror ....
Had a hard time collimating it....
Thats where the cons go out the window :
When it started goin it was justttt awesommeee !!! such crisp images so well magnified i cant tell u ..
seeing the moon is just a magical experience !!
if u dont know where to look just download skymaps from google !! Its the perfect app for astronomy ...
as far as the planetary veiwing is concerned it is a jaw dropping experience i saw jupiter last night .. thats the reason im writing this review !!!
cannot see saturn till jan 2014 since its close to the sun :(
the magnification factor is great !!
alas ! u dont get a accesory kit on flipkart or it would have been more awesome
Not been able to use it once properly
By Flipkart Customeron
I bought this about a month back and have tried using it multiple times. Not once have I been able to see anything that is different from what I can see with the naked eye.
Perhaps, being an amateur, I did not set it up properly, but then I did go through the material Celestron has provided related to this piece and set it up.
Considering the piece as well as the accompanying material as one package, I would not recommend this product.
