I am a fan of Sennheiser headphones. This is my 5th Sennheiser headphones. I have been using this pair for about 2 months now. The long cord is great if you like to move about your work desk. The headphones are slightly heavy but fits snugly and it took me a couple of weeks to get used to it. The sound quality is absolutely fantastic and has excellent response for whole spectrum of sounds from low to higher frequencies.

These are My second pair of HD280 pro.They are excellent cans for the price and have exceptional passive noise reduction. The ear cups might feel a bit tight in the beginning, but after a while they just sit comfortably.Brilliant Flat response. Surely not for bassheads!Amazon's quick delivery as usual!
Equal to Bose Sound true Headphones

One of the best Headphone in the price range 5-6K. Sound clarity is brilliant so that even some instrument sound which isn't audible in a normal headphone is clearly audible in this. Thanks a lot to the Noise Cancellation. No wonder it's a studio monitoring headphone. Fits perfectly on my head. The wire is bit lengthy and it takes time to get use to it. It would be great if Sennheiser provides a bag to carry the headphone. The ear cups should be cleaned with a tissue so that the sweat wont affect the life of it. I would suggest you to always connect it with iPod since the quality of sound varies in laptop, phones and iPod.

I ordered this headphones based on user reviews and ratings of popular sites ,I was sceptical until i got the headphones.But the sound of Hd 280 Pro just blew me away.(Lil exaggerated,May be)
The first impression of the Hd 280 is the rugged make,With fold-able ear-cups and a cushy headband .The Hd 280 is extremely comfortable on the ear and the first thing you'd notice as put it on is the absence of external noise.The Noise cancellation is so good you could listen to your favourite songs seated in your tv serial infested hall or in any noisy atmosphere.I prefer the normal cable to the coiled cable provided with the Hd .It comes with usual 3.5mm jack .
First impressions of listening to some country songs was the crisp sound of the guitar & depth of the vocals .Next i tried some regional music and the vocals were sounding better than i ever heard before.You will have a blast listening to AR Rahman on this.You will equally enjoy your pop and r&b.The HD comes alive to Rock music ,One could actually hear the minutest of detail of every song.And now it was time to test really how good is the HD ,I put on some Tiesto and it heaven...The Bass on this is so good there are very few headphones which good match it and none of those falls in the HD's Price range .All in all it gives you a crisp,crystal clear sound with good bass and good performance in mid-range and treble as well.

Before you buy this product, be a hundred percent sure what your requirements are. The Sennheiser HD 280 pro's are studio monitoring headphones. Means that each and every little sound and tweak wil be delivered. These are not loud by any means. so my suggestion is that you buy it if you are looking for music as it were being recorded.
as for the physical build, the headphones are sturdy enough, the earmuff's are comfortable althougha little sweaty for extended use(but it's not a big deal). the headband is nice too but the iconic sennheiser logo on top of it is missing. the cable is a 3 metre coiled cable though which makes it a little tough to shove into pockets. but since this pair of headphones were made for the studio it's quite handy. the earmuff's donot fail to isolate noise and gives the snug fit as well, that you might expect of a good set of headphones.
i listen to a lot of rock, metal, instrumental and rap. so these are perfect for me. for eg. when i listened to "high hopes" by pink floyd i got to know that there'e a bee buzzing before the song picks up. my point is when you listen to music with the HD 280 pro you will rediscover music which you have heard a 100 times before. cheers! go for it.
flipkarts delivery was ok. but the packaging was not sealed. the product was undamaged though.
and one last thing... no carry pouch has been provided. sennheiser may want to look itno this.

The only gripe I have with this is the size of the headset cable. Also am not a great fan of the swiveling pockets. The headphone is pretty bulky too.
Note:
This headphone is not meant for the bass heavy listeners. Its actually decent for audiophiles.
Overall:
This is a brilliant headphone to have when you aren't moving around too much. But with this, movement is going to be a big issue. I couldn't use this comfortably in the bus I travel to for work.
But all issues aside, sound quality wise I have heard none other !

voice isolation[pure mechanical] is better than cancellation ,since ,head phone had to produce waves against external sounds.
if u want to use a supraaural u better listen in quite place ,actually ,normal talking causes 65 db, so u prefer to hear in between 70-80 unknowlgly ,its ok,if in midst of noise like traffic its 85 decibel,90 db in subway train,for there u will prefer around 10 to 15 more, according to National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) (1998),exposure more than 100 db above 15 ,98db for 23 minutes can cause hearing loss..slowly ear will be adapted to higher frequencies ,u will never know u are raising volume .According to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), 5-10 million Americans are at risk for noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) because they are exposed to sounds louder than 85 dBA on a sustained basis in the workplace.National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) (1998).
so use head phone wisely.............
