To use the full capacity (3TB) of this disk in windows 7, you need to format/initialize it with the GPT partitioning and NOT MBR. MBR is limited to 2.2 TB maximum. So if you are planning to buy this, keep in mind that you need to initialize this disk with GPT partitioning when windows 7 asks you.

WD is better than Seagate for reliability/brand

Earlier I was using Seagate HDDs and they were pretty decent when they had 5 years warranty. But After the Barracuda 7200.11 fiasco and increased drive failure rates they reduced warranty to 1 year, yes from 5 to 1 that's how much confident Seagate is for their Hard drives. Adding to that in INDIA Seagate doesn't have official warranty service center and you must take your HDD to Accel Frontline office for warranty replacement and believe me they are just like Govt. offices and may reject warranty without even a logical reason. That's why I switched to Western Digital.
Pros:
Cheap and Reliable 3tb storage currently available.
Green drive ensures low power consumption, heat and noise.
WD onsite warranty (pick and drop from your doorstep).
Cons:
None so far
PS: Flipkart you guys should focus on proper packaging of HDDs not just bubble wrap. You guys should use OEM recommended packaging for shipping. My first one from you guys was DOA.

Bought two of these for back of my content.
Seagate used to be a reliable vendor, but of late I had terrible luck with them. And them reducing the warranty period to 1 year didn't help either. So went with WD for my last few purchases. So far doing ok.
Best Internal 3TB HDD

When it comes to High Capacity drives with good 2 Year warranty duration, it's hard to beat WD drives. 3 TB of space, Top Notch performance for both extended read and write modes. This drive will serve equally well for a boot drive or a storage drive and perform exceptionally well in both roles. Boot drives for Windows will mean that you will have to create partitions to make it MBR partition compatible required for Windows boot partitions (So you end up with 2 partitions at least on the drive). Storage device as a GPT partition on Windows 7 will allow you to use the 3 TB as a single volume if so desired.

Got the HDD within 3 days of placing the order.
It does work like charm.
However the packaging of Flipkart for a sensitive device like this gets deserves just 3 star Rating. (Disk was just enclosed in a Bubble Wrap).
Luckily the device got detected & is working Perfect as expected.
Great Drive for a Storage purpose.
Partitioned as GPT with 3 seperate partitions (Recognizes around 2.8TB of space)
