Average range awesome speed !
By Dipraj Patraon
I brought this router on March 2016 and now its march 2017 ,Pros1) (I always turn on my router) still alive after 356*24 hours of use .2) very good 5ghz ac speed3) gigabits port you can use it as a switch4) USB 2.0I brought a WD hard disk and I use this router as a mini nas , I stream music, movie, documents, etc.5 ) ac is a new technology and good ac routers are very expensive , if u need ac WiFi, USB, gigabits port , cheap price then go for it .Cons1) this router not has best or awesome 2.4ghz /5ghz range, 5ghz band is not for range its for speed ( which it has), but 2.4ghz band also average , but still I recommend this router2)USB 2.0 , who use 2.0 now ,Tplink wr841n has a better range than this router but when I download some thing with netgear I get 9-12 MBps (5ghz ac) but in 2.4 ghz tplink I got only 5-6MBps max . ( my internet connection is 100 Mbps)If you a technical guy you can replace those existing combine 2.4 & 5 ghz antennas with proper 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz antennas . if you do this , I can say it will performe like a 5000-6000 rupee router . If you are a power user and you need ac ,best rage , then don't buy this router , if you don't want to spend lot of money still want ac then this router is for you .Netgear speed test use WD hard disk on USB 2.05ghz ac --- 22 MBps download 13 MBps upload2.4ghz n -- 5-6 MBps dw 3-4 MB up
Ready Share Printer Wirelessly WORKS!!.
By Bhargavon
Bought this router to make my HP USB MFP1005 printer to be used as a wireless printer.Happy with this router that USB ready share works.Surprised that i can actually use scanner also wirelessly.First Brought D-Link DIR-825 for USB PRINT SERVER butreturned as Dlink said its USB driver is not designed for INDIA.and ordered this netgear and this worked straight away.Regarding the Wifi speed and coverage Took This for a 3 BHK flat and its working perfect.
Worst Router Ever!! Dont Buy!!
By Munnagon
For years, I have used one of those cheap routers and they become bad in sometime after running 24/7 on 365 days!I had high hopes when I bought Netgear RE6220 AC 1200 Smart Wifi router. I really hoped that this will solve all my wifi problems for good. And I am now lacking words to speak about this terrible product. To start with, the setup wasn't easy. It is not as simple as other routers. You can just simply plug in and connect to the internet.I went through 24 hours of hell to set this up!My HP desktop for some reason didn't recognize the Wifi access point. However, the access point was visible on my mobile, laptop, tablet etc. So I tried to set up the router on my laptop but the Netgear setup login page doesn't open. I tried turning off firewalls, installed NetGenie on my phone. Nothing worked. So I had to do things in the old way!!I connected the LAN cable to the router and another cable from the router to my laptop. Alas! It finally works. I managed to finally finish my router setup. But it wasn't the end of my problems. My home computer still didn't recognize the wifi access point. I tried to reinstall my wifi drivers and read every possible fix on the internet but nothing worked again. So I end up setting up the internet to desktop in the old way. I connected it through cable. And it isn't the end of my problems, the wifi signal strength is very bad. I get a poor signal from one room to another and I lose the complete signal if I move over 50 meters. The other cheap routers I used, I use to get signal till my cellar.I am not sure if this is how this router meant to be or did I receive a faulty piece? Whichever, I have lost almost 3 grand on this and more importantly. I lost my time on this.
Good product, great WiFi Options allows you 2 bands- ...
By Jairus J.on
Good product, great WiFi Options allows you 2 bands- 2.4ghz and 5 ghz on both in-house and Guest Wifi networks ( You can basically set up 4 independent Wifi networks. Range is poor, despite being put in prominent and clear location the signal tends to be medium and also fluctuates a good bit. Not all devices can connect to the high speed 5 Ghz (Close range) networks so beware of older WiFi devices, they will need to be on the 2.4 ghz connection. Overall the performance dips when channeled through this router... Directly via LAN I get around 100 mbps connectivity when the LAN is passed through this router the speeds dip to around 54 mbps and 70 Mbps. So not exactly as efficient as the manufacturer claims. Looks wise, the product is solid and built of robust plastic with a good finish. Overall it does the job, but perhaps not as efficiently as one is led to believe.
Best Dual Band Router you can buy under 5k Rupees.
By Vasudevon
More value per rupee. One of the best performing router I owned, dual bands actually was helpful in getting good signal in short range and long range. Beamforming tech. really works on 5GHz band. No slowdowns whatsoever.Easy to use UI and firmware upgrade. Works great with our 5G compatible devices. You can stream, download, upload and do everything w/o any buffering. On my old router, I had to do a power cycle every 6 hours or so to get consistent speed across all devices. After upgrading to Netgear I rarely do a power cycle.I'm Glad I chose this products and big big thanks to Amazon for delivering it ASAP.
