The first difference I noticed about this charger adapter was that the cable for this adapter is much flexible than the earlier one. This one is the best replacement for L502X adapter should the existing one go bad. It's a good buy. If you are looking for Dell XPS L502X charger adapter this is the one you go for. My existing adapter's charging end with the blue ring looked like someone had sliced it halfway with knife. This happened due to constant bending of the wire at charging end and stiff wire helped the cause. I was worried that the new one would have the same kind of cable which thankfully is not the case and also the wire is thinner. I hope Dell is providing these chargers now bundled with new laptops.
