I treated myself to this printer recently as I am constantly printing photos for arts and craft projects and scrapbooking and wanted a printer that could give my quality and durable colours.The printer is lightweight and truely compact, once the paper cassette and dust covers are off, everything fits nicely in a small drawer. It is also very user friendly as far as printing goes.My only real big issue with it, is that my Mac OS is not covered, so even if I get the USB cable (not included in the box) it would not be compatible. Canon is apparently known to not update their drivers frequently.Another thing that would have been an added advantage would be printing via Wi-Fi, this feature which was present on th CP910 is not available on the CP1000 (sadly the cp910 is not available in India with a local warranty).You can easily print by transferring your pictures to a USB drive or an SD card still. And of course, via USB cable straight from your computer if your OS is covered by the driver.One small glitch you need to be aware of when printing pictures : if you edit your pictures in Photoshop first, you may end up having the printer not recognise them as a valid JPEG file. I ran into that issue myself but it is EASILY fixable if you just remember to save your pictures in Photoshop opting for the "Baseline (standard)" mode instead of the default "Optimized".Apart from the fact the USB cable is not included, there is also NO CARTRIDGE coming with the printer. You need to buy it separately. I read that a started kit cartridge comes with other models abroad, but the CP1000, at least in India is not coming with anything. I ordered both the printer and the cartridge on the same day on Amazon, the cartridge took one extra day to come. So when my printer arrived, I had to rein in my impatience to use it and wait for my cartridge and paper set to be delivered.And yes, again, in our time and age, it would have been great to have the wi-fi option on that printer. It existed on the previous model they launched, not sure why they decided to scrap it off this version, this doesn't make a lot of sense.
