This is my first WD hard disk...and it's awesome. Bought 1TB one. First of all thanks to flipkart for early delivery but disappointed because of moderate packaging. After that coming to product. At first time for 4-5 times the write and read speed was very less about 40 MBps and I thought that the product is damaged but after that the speed just went on. Read Speed- 100-150 MBps Write speed- 70-90 MBps Using USB 3.0 Not checked with USB 2.0. Why use 2.0 when you have 3.0. The product is awesome. Look and feel is very good. But it has half side which can get easily scatched. Otherwise the product is very good and suggest it to all.

Product is awesome but i give 1 star because of the delivery. I got the delivery on time but at morning i got he call from flipkart regarding delivery but i said that i am not available at home so please deliver to my home address and handover any of my person available a home and delivery is accepted by my wife and he's started flirting with her and after that he took delivery sign and mobile number and my wife sign in their device and give my number(My registered mobile number from which i ordered) and he said that please give your number you have to give your number and he's forcing my wife to give her number. Really ugly incident i must say, today he's asking for number may be tomorrow he can be do anything. Worst delivery :( Thanks

(Refer Cons for a very important thing to perform on these HDD as soon as you receive them though that test would take about 11-12 Hours but you will be sure your Data is safe)Update: Empty/Brand-New HDD with no data should take only about 4 Hours for test to complete (1 Hour per 1TB), if HDD is completely full(data) then it would take about 11-12 hours to complete the test.Would suggest to run test after filling it up completely.Also, don't move the HDD while its running and dropping it from height can damage it .. Head could hit the platter leading to Physical Bad Sectors and Data Loss. (Minor Safety Measures)Pros:1. Transfer Rates (About 115 MB/s Reads and about 90-110 MB/s Write Speeds | Also reads/writes depends on how data is on the HDD Fragmented or Defragmented)2. Looks Good from outside3. Capacity of about 3.63 TB Usable.4. Cheapest option in India if you want to store large amount of data at a low price/don't want an Internal Drives/NAS Drives which you can access anytime, factors why would you prefer this over NAS/Internals: Power outages & you don't have power backup(assuming you have a laptop), want to save 2-3k INR.(You can buy a number of these)5. 3 years Warranty from the Date of purchase (Make sure to head to the WD website and register you product)Cons:- I wanted to give this My Passport HDD a 2 Star, but cannot let my personal experience to affect this drive.... (But don't know if its just me with this kind of unfortunate experience)- I Bought two 4TB WD My Passports from Amazon in a span of 2 months...- And it took me about 1 Month 26 Days to fill up 4TB..- After which i realized one of my HDD had Bad Sectors... and i lost about 64GB of data due to it- And then while i was creating a RMA on WD Website...- I thought lets run the SMART Extended Test on my another healthy My Passport HDD and i was suprised my 2nd HDD had Bad Sectors as wellHow to perform this Test which checks for Bad Sectors/Phyically Damaged Sectors:1. Download :Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostic from WD Website2. Install, Connect your My Passport HDD, Launch the program.3. Double click(left click) your My Passport Drive from the list of drives.4. A Menu pops-up, Click Extended Test. Another pop-up will appear Click OK. ( Make sure no program is using your My Passport HDD)5. Let it run would take about 11-12 Hours to complete and if it finds too many Bad Sectors Program will abort with error.(If you have some different error you can google "Data Lifeguard Diagnostics Error Code List" and find what kind of error you are getting..)6. If It aborts you know you need to Return the drive or you need to get it replaced under warranty.

This Hard Drive is awesome! I'm writing this review after using it for 3 days now...Here are the Pros :1. Write speeds sometimes can go up to 100 Mb/s. (Usually ranges from 25 to 60 Mb/s).2. When it was delivered, it was smaller than I thought it would be, so thanks to portability.3. Price on the box says ?5830, so I got this at only ?3899 from Amazon, so a good saving.Here are the Cons :1. Built quality is not so good. If you press it with your hand then it'll make squeaky noises like loosely fitted plastics. By these things, I can estimate that this definitely not for rough use (so please try not to drop it).2. This hard drive has a design of half bottom of a matte finish and the upper half of glossy finish with WD logo on it. You'll soon get slight scratches on the glossy part. Touching Glossy & Matte together is irritating sometimes...Here is the comparison between Seagate & WD... Just like everyone, before buying this even I was confused between Seagate & Western Digital (WD). I had to go with due to the following 3 reasons...1. While reading reviews, WD had a higher rating and better reviews from customers.2. WD had a bunch of colors to choose from, while on the other side Seagate had only 2 colors.3. I had seen people use WD more than Seagate. Also, people who are using it, their WD HDD is lasting longer than Seagate.

A decent drive to backup your data. Offers speed upto 90mb/s when used with a USB 3.0 port. The casing is plastic so it is surely not rugged. I would recommend this only to those who want to take backups and store the drive away safely with less transportation. Better to get a hard case for storage and transportation. The red colour looks refreshing. The bundled cable is short like what most offer.
