I could have gone for other brands like Western Digital or Seagate but I chose this because of the sole reason that my precious humongous data will never get lost just because of a stupid drop. Faulty Disk was shipped to me, now seller/service team is giving excuses not to replace it. Disk has been giving data error(CRC) while initializing it. Its USB cable connector at disk end is loose due to this connection is not stable. I strongly recommend not to go for this product Beware , Product is not USB 2.0 & Win 7 compatible(confirmed by seller) Only plus point -- Flipkart's Fast delivery though faulty product

I work with a motorbike tour company, and we ride over extreme conditions in the Himalayas, Tibet, Rajasthan, and so far its been a nightmare to store data, especially big video files on portable externals. I've tried them all.. Western Digital has been the very worst, with frequent head fails, closely follwed by the terribly expensive Lacie hard disks which are such a fail. And Toshiba, to a large extent has been the best so far. Even though the case cracked, the HD is working well in a new case. And then comes the Transcend. This HD is big, heavy and extremely durable. It's also very well designed, and looks and feels great. With USB 3.0, transferring files on the go is a breeze and fast. For those who live a life of adventure, this hard disk is an amazing companion. And the best part is it's cheaper than some other stupid HDs, which don't even come with 10% of the protection this does. I've bought 4 so far. This product ROCKS!

The only reason I chose Transcend over WD and Seagate, is for the supposedly military grade shock protection (I have butterfingers!). The casing protects the hard disk during drops. - It's heavy and looks pretty sturdy. I haven't practically tested how immune it is to drops, but you can say it can withstand shocks better than your delicate WD's or Seagate's. - The USB 3.0 speeds are good, so there's no problem with that. - Din't try the one-touch backup feature yet. So if you're like me and handle your electronics a bit roughly, go with Transcend.

Bought the hard drive from flipkart, Got the delivery in 2 days !!!, Compact , looks sturdy enough, 1.81 TB space available getting upto 90MBps transfer speed while backing up from my Laptop. Already have a 1 TB seagate backup Plus Ext. HD. Definitely bulkier but stronger build as compared to it..... And now i no longer have to delete files to make space for new ones ..... :D Hopefully for a long time .... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Hard disk is fully functional and gives quite remarkable transfer speed. BUT the 3.0 Cord supplied is not upto the mark.The first time i used it seemed to be a little loose but after a week when i tried using one of my friend's cord (SAME MODEL)..it came out to be fine. DONT BUY FROM FLIPKART. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS. AND THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL ARE NOT AT ALL SIMILAR TO THOSE WE BUY FROM COMPANY RETAIL SHOPS.
