I had very good respect for seagate products.
I use 500 gb hard drive - go flex and also thunderbolt adapter for mac from seagate for good time now and both are giving no problems.
there seems to be some issue with 1 tb drive .
My internal one has gone within few months of purchase.
I had updated the firmware.
Reliability issue

Performance wise, I have no complain, this disc really works good, excellent speed and performance however I have been facing many issue with Seagate products with reliability issue.
No Bad Sectors but discs are losing data and failures are also becoming common issue with them.
Internet is full of bad comments with too many disc failure and I would also add to it.. Indeed they go on to replace it under warranty to losing all those pictures and data is just not acceptable !!

I brought this drive in March and now after 5 months I have to suffer a hard disk failure, I mean it literally failed in 5 months, where as my 80GB Hitachi which is 5 and a half years old is still going strong, what's wrong with seagate, I agree with Atul, as this is happening world wide so to those who want to buy this hard disk I would like to say " Buy At Your Own Risk ", if you are prepared for wasting your time, data and energy when it goes off, then it's your wish, what can I do, I brought it without doing proper research so now my ignorance is taking it's toll, and nothing can I do.
If I had to recommend I will not recommend this I will strongly recommend for Hitachi as I had very good experience with it heard a lot about WD so it may be a good choice, but in the end it's your choice, so...

Hard Drive Crash!

I bought this drive a month ago,which was my biggest mistake.MY DRIVE CRASHED!
The Hard drive used to make clicking sound and reboots to always go to the boot screen and the PC refused to start.This was not expected from Seagate which has been a very popular company in this segment.I am extremely unhappy with the product.Please be wary of this product!!

Very annoying and pathetic product of seagate. Drive have this problem of disappearing all the time. Updated firmware still no resolution. Only solution is to restart PC.
