Setup took 1 min exact!! Works like a charm with Windows 8 well just follow this: 1) Put in the cd browse for the setup.exe file select it 2)right click on the setup file and go to properties. 3) Tick run as admin as usual(must do) 4) go to Compatibility and go to compatibility mode Tick mark the Run this program in compatible mode and select Windows 7.. That's it run the setup file and ur all sorted... Reception signal strength is excellent..

I got this product recently. looks very tiny, need to keep it carefully it can get lost :-).. No trouble whatsoever on windows insert the CD get the drivers installed and a helper app installed.. Bang!!! ready to rock.. can use as a dongle which can connect to a remote wifi router..or from a wired connection it can be used as an access point. @this cost its a very good feature.Signal strength shows 90% @12feet distance in another room. Pretty satisfied with windows use. The headache starts when I use linux. I tried it on both Fedora 16 and Ubuntu 12.04. Kernel detects the driver, but connection gets lost automatically in every 2mins. You need to install appropriate driver via ndiswrapper util. But that doesnot guaranty speed and performance and you might get disconnected intermittently. So if you are a windows user.. This product is super cool go for it. However for linux users get some dongle which has linux support.

* Performance wise, this is a compact, nifty piece of hardware. I haven't had any wi-fi disconnections at all in the past 5 months I've been using it, signals are picked up clearly, & speeds are great. * After you install the device for the first time, TP-Link installs a GUI front-end along with the device driver. On default settings, this interface pops up every-time you startup your system or connect the adapter – offering you a choice of available networks. This gets a bit annoying after a point, especially if you're using the adapter on only one computer and one network where the choices are the same every-time and the ability to choose is unnecessary. Even in places like hotels & offices, the built-in Windows network config tools can scan and choose networks without the extra-client. This li'l bit of bundled bloatware was my only gripe with the adapter. * Thanks to assistance from the many tech Jedis out on the Interwebs, a fairly straightforward tweak has zapped this annoyance. The GUI client can safely be uninstalled through the Control Panel – & this will have no effect on the Adapter's device-driver, which will still function as before. From then on, it's more or less plug-&-forget. Windows will remember the wi-fi settings, & you'll be able to connect automatically to the wi-fi on sys startup (or later, as you wish) just like on a laptop. * There're are other inbuilt security features in the hardware as well, although I can't really comment on those with any authority because I've used the adapter primarily on a home network where the extra security wasn't really necessary. * System: Lenovo all-in-One * OS: Win 7 Home Premium Cheers everyone, hope you found this review useful. Buy it with your eyes closed. The plus point is the range. It catches the wifi signals from upto 100 meters easily. This device is useful if you have two desktops at home and one of them is connected with wi-fi whereas the other has no wi fi at all. Just plug this small device to your second desktop which does not have wi-fi and it takes the signals from the first desktop wifi and now you have two desktops running on a single wi fi. Small device which requires plugging it into slot where you plug your pen drive. Only one minus point is that the cover cannot be fitted behind. I have kept it in cupboard. There should be provision to fit the cover on the back part, just like we put ball pen cover behind the ball pen, then it would be perfect. Otherwise a good device
