Excellent Speakers!

By Suresh Harion
I was researching for high quality speakers for my laptop for 3-4 months before zeroing in on Logitech Z623 .. below are the options I was considering.. 1) Audio Engine A5 (Bookshelf Speakers) 2) Creative T3 3) Logitech Z623 4) Altec Lansing MX6021 Rejected Audio Engine A5 as it was not available at the time when I was planning to buy, T3 costs twice as much as Z623 and as per online reviews, it wasn't really worth the money .. so I was left with Z623 & MX6021, MX6021 has separate tweeters whereas Z623 doesn't but I read lot of owners complaining about hissing sound from the tweeters so rejected it and so here I am with Z623 .. its been almost 1 month since I bought the speakers and I am enjoying it immensely, delivery by flipkart was as promised in 4 working days but I was slightly disappointed with little damage to the sub woofer (not a deal breaker), apart from tat very happy with the service .. coming to pros n cons of the speakers.. Pros: 1) Bass from the sub-woofer is out standing to say the least! 2) Excellent clarity from the speakers even at high volume, no distortion 3) You will love watching movies, playing games on this speaker set (thanks to the THX certification) 4) 50% volume is enough to fill a mid sized room 5) 2 Yrs Logitech warranty Cons: 1) Could have provided a treble adjuster, speakers sound shrill sometimes at high volume 2) No remote Overall a definite buy at this price range!

The Black Beast- Listen it to believe it.Hats off to Logitech!!

By Chirag Dashon
Researched a lot whether to buy an average 5.1 system or a premium 2.1. In my mind i had the following sets to be considered. My budget being Rs 10000. 5.1 Creative T6160(6100 no longer available)-50w RMS-- Rs 4200 2.1 Harman Kardon Soundsticks 3- 65W RMS- Rs 9000 5.1 Logitech Z506- 75W RMS- Rs 6000 2.1 Logitech Z623- 200W RMS (THX Certified)- Rs 8500 2.1 Klipsch Pro Media-200W RMS (THX Certified)-Rs 13000 2.1 Creative Gigaworks T20- 28W RMS- Rs 7500 In my area i have only creative and logitech service center so Harmon Kardon and Klipsch were out of my perception as i did not want to take risk of warranty. Creative T6160(50W RMS) is below the model T6100(75W RMS). But T6100 is no longer in production. Don't no what is going on with Creative very limited choice. So i had to choose between Z506 and Z623 and that was a blessing in disguise..Both Logitech models had superb online reviews.. People may be thinking around Rs 8000 bucks for a 2.1 set is really expensive but ya it may be but you cannot expect the sound quality of premium 2.1 buy buying an average 5.1 set... Sound quality comes with a price tag.. By surfing internet reviews of both the models and reading forums i came to know that a premium 2.1 set can beat an average 5.1 set on any given day in terms of sound clarity. I decided to order Z623. I sacrificed the surround sound of 75 W RMS 5.1 for a 200 W RMS THX certified system..What i got was unbelivable.. Delivery was fast by Flipkart. Due to rain i had to collect the parcel from the delivery guy who was an absolute idiot, as he was constantly rejecting my delivery for 2 days(Really irritating). The item was nicely packed, so took a bit more time to get this out of the box. Was really amazed by the looks of this gem. Pure black, glossy, matte finish looks and feels like a premium 2.1 not any cheap speakers. The left and right satellites are heavier than other speakers, and the cords are built like they are ready to fight world war. The sub woofer is wide enough and with a classy metal finish wrapped over the logitech logo which vibrates in bass thump. Build quality is exceptional.. I plugged it into my HDTV and was really amazed. Watching Tom yum goong, Tony Jaa's action sequences never seemed so detailed before. Glass breaks and you can isolate the sound passing from right to left THX certified adds to the beauty. And it unleashes it's true potential when connected to PC. Who says 2.1 set cannot create surround sound. It's better surround than a 5.1 set. You have to listen this beast to believe. With 10 band equalizer adjustment in my Realtek Hd audio the sound is so detailed and classy. I have never heard sound like this before in my life. Thanks to the THX certfication it is indeed a feature to boast about. Sound signature of Logitech is brilliant.. Very impressed with Logitech. I purchased this one for 7200 after all discounts but i got a Nov 2012 stock but it does not matter to me as i don't want to pay Rs 10000 in local market by purchasing new stock. So money well invested. After Sennheiser cans falling in love with Logitech's sound signature quality. I thought i would miss surround sound but my god what sound it produces was exceptional. Take my word these are superb set of 2.1 very premium and can beat any average 5.1 speakers without any hassle.. Vocals are so clear and bass is tight thump bass not open bass like most of Indian manufacturers seems to be going now days...This is quality redefined.. And never forget it comes with 2 years replacable warranty..This suggests Logitech is very confident of their product...While others giving one year.. 5 stars for this product would be an understatement.. There is no other product in this segment which can beat these monsters.. If you really want 5.1 systems go for higher end systems above Rs 10000 and prefer JBL 5.1 which comes around Rs 18000 or say Logitech's own Digital surround sound Z 906 which comes around Rs 20000 street price.. Just forget 2.1 and 5.1, it's just common sense that quality sound comes with a price, Within Rs 10000, Z623 and Harman Kardon Soundsticks 3 are the best PC speakers ever made...If u go above Rs 10000 for a 2.1 set and you do not have service issues then there is klipsch Pro media 2.1, Creative Gigaworks T40 and Corsair's SP2500 which is really impressive and expensive... N.B- This review given by me is the before the product burn in i.e straight out of the box. I am burning these monsters now and definetly the sound quality will increase after the burning period is achieved.. Superb, excellent, magnificent Sound quality...But be sure to supply the right inputs to these monsters like DTS video files, mp3-320 kbps or more to get it's true potential...

pathetic customer service by logitech - be careful

By Praveen Kumaron
My speaker stopped working after 2 month of purchase and here are some bad points that I noticed about the Logitech customer care and warranty. 1) Service centers are open on weekday around 4-5 hours only 2) Most of the service center and numbers mentioned on the webpage are wrong and You will struggle a lot to get the correct point of contact 3) No service on Saturday and Sunday, In fact they don't accept any entry. At least they should take the faulty product on weekend and repair it on weekdays. Here are the list of service center mentioned in Bangalore Bangalore Ingram Micro India Ltd -> no more service center Bangalore Neoteric Infomatique Pvt. Ltd. -> closed Bangalore Neoteric Infomatique Pvt. Ltd. -> closed Bangalore Rashi Peripherals Pvt. Ltd. -> only one option Bangalore Savex Computers Ltd. -> no stock

Simple listener's experience

By Sudeep Patnaikon
To start of with I am not an audiophile, i have realized that after my extensive research before buying these speakers, i cannot tell the highs from the mids. The lows i can because thats where the bass comes from so yeah but i cant distinguish between a tight bass, boomy bass, muddy bass etc. Its probablt coz i havent listened to high end systems. For a whole week i read reviews on the internet. I considered Edifier C3, Soundsticks III, Klipsch Promedia (these 3 in similar range) also Swans M50W (@21k way out of my budget but would have bought these eyes closed if i had the cash). Also considered Logitech Z906 (when it was briefly selling for 17k) but decided i didnt want an entry level 5.1 system. I read review after review by audiophiles trashing the Z623 for not having 'good highs' for the lack of tweeters, missing mids and muddy bass so i thought i will trash it too. However 3 things made me change my mind - 1) My primary requirement was for PS3 Gaming and Movies (80% usage) and the remaining for music. These speakers have had good reviews for gaming and movies (especially movies dialogues are clear and action scenes are good) 2) I actually took my Zune HD and heard these speakers and the sound didnt disappoint me. Seeing that music was the least of my priorities and the fact that I was within a strict sub-10k budget this was an acceptable compromise. 3) Widely available after sales support. Klipsch @11k with extensive problems (as per online reviews) and little or non-existent after sales support was too big a risk. (I contacted their distributor in Pune to inquire about after sales support and didnt get a satisfactory response.) but these would have been the ideal speakers for me and i would have stretched my budget for these but didnt want the risk. Soundsticks III - the likeable out of the normal design lacked the action movie experience and i felt was a little fragile so passed up on this. C5 - didnt go all the way on gaming and movie experience. Its important to listen to any speakers before making a decision dont go on reviews alone.

Stopped working

By Irfanon
This Speaker stopped working suddenly after 4-5 months of usage.

Good if you like boomy bass.

By Dheerajon
Used to have a swans m10 but the woofer unit gave up after an year so opted for logitech. Looks great and build is great, coming to the sound the bass is boomy which drowns out music in certain songs, would have preferred punchy bass. The satellites are good but not excellent (compared to swans m10). Overall they are priced a bit high for a speakers which doesn't have Bluetooth as well.

Right mixture of boom boom.

By Kamal deepon
At this price its the number one Home theatre system .This one beats soundbar and even Bose at this price. If someone feels that the subwoofer is only boom boom. Its not like that; the small speakers have too much power as well as quality and mixes accurately with boom boom. The boom is made like that. The movies as well as music is very good quality. Its number one globally at this price range. The Sony D100 do not stand even close. Its in competition with Bose. I own Bose sound bar as well as bose Bluetooth speakers. Earlier I had SONY SAD100.

BOOM

This speaker is not just for listening..it's an experience.THX is very underrated.Has little value or impact on songs, but damn for games they are a force to be reckoned with.I use this with my creative sound blaster and the outcome is too good to be true.Suggested games to try:Senuas sacrifice,Dragon age inquisition ,mass effect Andromeda and The witcher 3 and 2

By SUBRAHMANYAM Ron
need to carefully locate the perfect spot particularly in the corner of the floor for the SUB to experience rich thump of bass sound, one thing I don't understand why the power cord is very thin ? And the LEFT speaker cable length is not sufficient to a comfortable level to make the setup.I think I'm the luckiest to buy at Rs.7612 in 2018

There is no Cristal clear quality.

By Anji.Aon
Good for movie's, if you want to listen the music there is no Cristal clear quality. I will give 10 of 10 Mark's for main bass speaker and I will give 10 of 6 Mark's for two satilight speaker's?.
