Preferable SONY laptop in this price range. However I won't suggest this laptop for those people who need a PC for educational purpose only. The major problem i found is with the battery backup. we get a maximum of 2 and half hour backup even we only do reading (in airplane mode ) and less than 2 hour if we browse. Another drawback is with flipckart. I bought the product, paid online and these people made me wait 4 days without any information. Don't go with online payment. U ll get good laptop with the same configuration in lower price.
Don't pay for the BRAND.
Pay for the performance.
Forgot to mention one thing: it is a 'winter friendly' laptop. Put it in ur lap and u don't feel cold at all :p :p

The Sony Vaio Fit 15E is a good mainstream laptop for the professional on the go, but yes a bit on the heavier side. Its sleek, but the build could have been a lot better. That's the only thing where the 15E lacks, build quality.
The speakers are average but loud, the display is good with decent viewing angles. But the matte paint on the palm rest area gets faded soon and you are left with its shiny black interior. Same goes for the keyboard, the matte finish leaves way for the black plastic to show through.
Performance is exceptional for a Ultra Low Voltage processor, and even high-end games are playable at low-med settings. all surfaces get scratched very easily, so its upto you how you keep it. therefore, I am going with 4 out of 5 stars, taking one star out for lack of proper build quality and finish.

Another excellent product from sony in music and entertainment segment, even capable to play most games at medium settings.
most of the features are awesome, the only drawback is the built material looks like some low level plastics and disappoints in strength of the product .

i bought tis laptop a month ago...i was very keen to buy vaio laptop but my frends told me tat sony laptops hang a lot but still i purchased it because i fell iin luv wit sony wen i brought a sony earphone....it was jst amazing in its price....initially tis laptop hangs a lot and the processing was also very slow...i thought my frends were rite and i also felt embarassed using it in front of my frends....ten i unstalled my antivirus-trend micro titanium....after unstalling it all these thngs jst disappeared....the processing increased for about two fold....in tis price range tis is the best laptop with amazing sound quality....great gaming experience....i ran nfs-the run very smoothly in ultra settings....don't thng about anythng before purchasing tis laptop jst go and buy tis laptop....

I bought this laptop a week ago, from a Sony exclusive store, as Flipkart couldn't deliver to my pincode.
Pros and cons depend on your perspective. I'll just list out some facts.
Performance:
1) great CPU balances power and performance incredibly well.
2) 740M is good enough for playing most games at medium to high settings above 40 fps.
3) 4GB RAM is enough for most computing needs.
Battery Life:
1) Above average battery life, lasts about 5 hours in airplane mode and balanced power setting. Again, this depends on what you're doing. I'm coding most of the time, with screen brightness very low and intermittent browsing.
2) About 3 hours under heavy usage.
Thermals and noise:
1) Comfortable even under heavy use, unlike some other laptops I've used.
2) Runs cool under moderate usage.
3) No audible fan noise.
Display:
1) Average resolution.
2) Vivid, low glare screen.
3) Vaio control center allows you to choose from different color settings, which believe me comes in handy.
Keyboard and trackpad:
1) Well spaced keyboard.
2) Precise trackpad. Multi-touch gestures essential in non-touchscreen Windows 8 laptops.
Sound:
1) Speaker output is very crisp, clear and full.
2) Phones output is just as good.
Pre-installed software:
Barring a few apps, pre-installed software is VERY useful. Check it out yourself.
I won't be reviewing looks and other stuff.
If you want a laptop for everyday computing and moderate gaming, this one is worth a shot.
