Pros : It has everything one can ask for, starting from HD audio, true 5.1 experience, crystal clear audio, very loud yet awesome speakers to get your mini home IMAX setup dream complete. Cons : None (shall clarify most common ones) : *Firstly, all the satellites and the woofer CAN be controlled within the device settings, not only dB output, but distance of speakers placed as well(which determines the loudness for each specific speaker and manage surround experience accordingly) and is a MUST to setup by measuring the distance to each speakers' front, to your ideal listening head position, to get an optimised surround experience, else it shall feel, some satellites that are the furthest to head position, are under performing (since all are set to 3meters by default) *By no means the bass is overpowering, if we know what we are doing. A lil bit of going through the manual would do wonders. Yes the bass is heavy and awesome, even better than Logitech Z906 and F&D F6000U not only interms of specs, but quality and punchy as well. All we need to do is, set the correct mode for correct audio playback, ClearAudio+ mostly. when? any 2.1 source and 5.1 source when u don't want the hassle of setting separate live modes(which are written on the manual when and why to use) why clear audio+? {It's a one stop destination, which converts 2.1 to 5.1 dolby pro logic, when thrs a 2.1 input, while when thrs a true 5.1 input, it plays back the original source (i.e, true 5.1 dolby-hd or dts-hd etc) the way it was encoded} So yeah, this time, we do need to get through the user manual provided within the box, to make use of the device to its full potential :-) nd still if the bass feels over powering, just lower the dB level for the woofer, within the speaker settings. For me though, its perfect. Also, I connected this to Mi TV 4 via hdmi ARC nd set the output of the tv to HDMI-Raw(dts-hd) and never had any issues playing back remux or any other 5.1 movies and getting true 5.1 output. The audio is mind blowing. I also use this with my ps4 pro too, which is connected to the tv directly, while audio goes to the ht-iv300 via separate hdmi arc port(as mentioned above) nd games with dolby/DTS 5.1 support totally feels like out of the world with the true 5.1 surround and 4k hdr on mi tv. won't need a surround headphone ne longer, other than only if mic is required. Startup Time? well thrs clearly a fast boot option given too, which acts as standby/hibernate mode, for when we can't have the patience to wait for 48seconds startup time. while i personally don't prefer quick start, since it does consume power, if plugged in(again, reading the manua helped), nd even if not kept connected to power supply, a set(0) is always better than reset(1). Positioning : set all speakers in EAR HEIGHT, with the center directly below the tv's dead center, Front left & Front Right should bounce 45degrees off the front left and front right portion of walls if possible(i.e, best surround experience setup) or even if directly pointed at your ear from front left wall and front right portion of the wall at a 45degree angle setup, would work too. woofer should be placed ideally at any front corner of the room or halfway under a wooden side enclosed table. Surround Left and Surrounf Right Satellite should be directly placed dead left and right towards left and right ears in a straight line forming 180degrees(with ur head being the center) and if for any reason you cannot sit exactly in the center of the above setup, make sure to adjust the distance of the speakers within speaker settings accordingly, for an optimised surround experience. with the most important part being, all speakers should directly point towards your head at your ear height. try this setup, and trust me, never again ever would u look for alternate listening experience. :-) Overall, you wont manage to get any better Home Theatre at this price range of 16k to 22k, than this one out here. again, just set the audio mode to clear audio+ for the most part, and music arena for music concert videos, nd fiddle with other modes too, but go through the manual, when and why to use them. thats all. Just make sure to go through the manual, its not that boring for this device. can trust me on that xD You can also download it online before buying the device to get a glimpse of all that it can do. // the manual has been updated on 2017, since HT-IV300 was refreshed with better latest gen tech(Dolby-HD/DTS-HD,etc), on 2017,than the 2014 model so make sure to download the latest manual and read the same)// nd make sure that you receive speakers manufactured after 2017.
