sennheiser at it's best
By Mayank kohlion
the sound is very clear however with high quality music it's just awesome as it provides detailed sound with clarity & produces very balanced sound.
pros:-
The comfort is ultimate & one can't get better than this therefore i will rate it 10/10,
The sound quality is excellent & the best part is the smooth sound and lifelike sound quality therefore i'll rate it 9/10,
The design is timeless & a touch of class earpieces can be rotated but headphone is not that portable therefore i'll rate it 8.5/10.
cons:-
As these headphones are open therefore they can't be used in noisy environments nor they are portable i.e. mainly for low noise environments,
secondly as it produces a very balanced sound so these aren't for those who likes a particular sound like bass or treble because every sound has equal amplitude.
for those who think they are overpriced you can refer to HD 238 both headphones have only one difference that HD 239 produces more smoother sound and comfort is same.
Neat sound

All of the sound spectrum is well Pronounced. Pretty neat Build. Little uncomfotable on the head. Flipkart keeps changing the price indefinitely. Thousand rupees difference on the product in a weeks time. This is a gamble.
The best headphones you can buy at 5k
By Shivam Singhon
These are the best headsets you can probably buy at this price range and definitely better than most of the over priced bose and beats headsets priced at a ridiculous amount of 8k to 20k.They create perfectly balanced sound. The soundstage is awesome and it feels like you are listening to live music. The build quality is great and comfort wise they are right up there. The only drawback with these open back sets is that you cannot use them in a public environment with a lot of noise. They are meant to be used in the silence of your room to enjoy music in bliss. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for an awesome set of headphones and has a budget of 5k. I did not buy these from flippy though and got them for a discount price of 4k, but that was a year ago and the price has increased since then.
Not black, but pretty good
By Aditya Banerjeeon
Design & build: I was somewhat surprised to find that the headband is dark brown rather than black as indicated in the title. The plastic and finish also feels somewhat low end, especially when compared to the Sennheiser PX100 that I also own. The feel is not necessarily a good indicator of durability though - take a look at the top end plasticky Galaxy phones that do quite well in that regard. The wire is on the thinner side, but long enough to suit most portable usage scenarios. The connector is pretty large, and tends to protrude a bit when connected.
Comfort: The earpads are quite comfortable even when wearing spectacles. The headband is also quite snug without being too clamping. The set is also pretty light and the open design prevents sound pressure from building up on the ears.
Sound: There aren't too many reviews to be found on this specific model on the net (most are for its predecessor the HD 238), but most of the ones I have found were quite positive. In fact, the innerfidelity site lists this at the top of the On ear open headsets wall of fame. From my personal experience, the set sounds very good with a wide soundstage expected of open headphones. The sound is also pretty balanced as promised on the box, though vocals are not as prominent as on some other models. The treble can get a bit harsh on low quality recordings too. The bass is quite well defined without being overpowering. All in all, a good upgrade from the PX100.
Worth every Penny

The best headphone I came across with...Nice and clear audio, with surround sound which creates a nice acoustic space around your ears. ...but only cons is no volume adjustable, which can only be adjusted thru your system.

These are amazing headphones. If you have never tried the open-back style, then go for these as a start, you will be surprised.Sound clarity is very goodComfort is also good, even though they are on-ear - still they manage to not hurt - though after a an hour or so you will feel them, but that happens for any earphone/headphone.They are travel friendly, the cans fold inward and hence easy to carry. My only gripe would be the flimsy cable, it feels not very sturdy, but only time will tell what it;s made of.Overall a very nicely engineered product - go for it, and in case there is a deal then definitely go for it.Edit, Aug 2017.These are still going strong. I am surprised by the way they held up. No signs of any wear tear, sound is still as good as new. Cable has held up good.-Guru.
Must Buy!
By Sachin Jainon
Have been using HD 238 for about 3 years now. Buying this model reflects my trust in Sennheiser and especially this model (HD238 & 239, exact same headphones). This pair is very comfortable on ears, provides true sound with a perfect blend of treble and bass. Since it's Open-ear headphones, sound leak on high volume may concern you. These headphones are best for indoor use, Ouside It's as good as any other 100 bucks typical headphones.
Very poor volume
By Anandon
Worked ok with my iPhone but the volume is very low, but very bad on the laptop with very poor volume. Not at all an upgrade to the PX 100 iis as suggested in some reviews, Returned the cans on the same day.Might also be due to some defects in the headphones as got it for only 2500 Rs while others are selling it at 4000+.
A bit fatiguing after long hours of listening
By Nsoufianeon
As title says it, these guys are a bit too sibilant on high freqs and lows are a bit too boomy, resulting in a very in your face kind of sound effect. Add to that the fact that they need much a LOT of volume to be driven and that can hurt as well. But overall a decent sound quality and very good comfort, a bit overpriced in my opinion.
The headphones are amazing. Since they are open cans the sound leaks
By Amazon Customeron
The headphones are amazing. Since they are open cans the sound leaks. But i had this in consideration before buying them so no issues. One star less because i liked response of PX100 more :)
