I had been waiting for long to upgrade my speaker system and after wasting all my time, researching all other good products which would satisfy my requirements, I really wonder how I had finally ended up in getting myself a curse!! This would be one of the worst product that anyone would buy. After reviewing and testing its former product Philips MMS4040F (indicating 4040W PMPO approx 30W RMS), which was pretty good with excellent sound clarity, and the one which I originally intended to buy, I suddenly changed my mind to go for this crap which indicated more power output (MMS6000F indicating 6000W PMPO), believing that it would excel the former one. I finally got it even without reviewing just to throw all my expectations in trash!! Coming to its performance, the BASS sucks big time!! Firstly, overall Bass is so weak. Its a shame for a subwoofer which boasts of 30W RMS power. And then they say the frequency response of the sub touches as low as 20 Hz. But it would not go down even beyond 50 Hz, which was a complete slap on the face. The switch over frequency for the Subwoofer and the satellite speakers are not smooth as well. The subwoofer is just a showy big box of no use. The mid frequencies are just average and again the treble(highs) is a let down. The sound is not crystal clear and it would not cross 10KHz. There is no surround effect. I tried to place the speaker in various positions but in vain. On the whole, this product is a big big waste of money to buy. Even my 7 year old creative speakers of 21W RMS is still way better than this speaker. Comparing its huge cost, this would definitely be a poor product to buy. This is not even fit for writing an audio performance review. I really regret a lot for buying this. There are many other speakers with amazing quality at a lower cost than this. I must say, its former product Philips MMS4040F is really awesome and has excellent sound quality. I had tested it. Go for that!!

Purchased this product trusting the Philips brand , totally disappointed. Whilst the product finish is of fine quality and surely eye-catching- externally that is , the sound quality is a total disappointment, especially the woofers. The woofers only help in adding a extremely irritating loud hissssssssss. Over-all a piece of crap in fine exterior finish giving credence to an old adage , " Looks can be deceptive- very , Very , VERY DECEPTIVE. " To add to the deception this product plays awesome in the first few days and then the nightmare begins. I rated it 4 at first and now i would rate it 1, just for its looks..

I think this is totally worth every penny. I had shortlisted this along with F&D 330U, 333U and Philips 4040. I know that this one has 6000 W, much more than any of the above and thus costs 800 more than any of them but, that 800 is worth it. I got this from a retailer for much less than from in flipkart. And also I know that people are now buying speakers from new emerging companies like F&D and all, but I have to say that those may be loud and all but philips gives you the best sound clarity as compared to those. Pros: Sound quality is just awesome. Very nice bass, no matter how much you increase the volume the sound wont burst. Lot of power for far less money Much much better to look at compared to any in its class. provides a remote which some speakers dont. Cons: short satellite cables. about 1 m. too heavy and bulky. uses up lot of space I just hope that it wont get spoiled, but the thing with electornics is that they can get spoiled any time. It doesnt mean if you take care of your device a lot it wont get spoiled. All you can do is hope. YOU HAVE TO ADJUST ITS POSITION ON THE TABLE WHEN ITS PLAYING EVERY 5 MINUTES, BECAUSE IT THAT FREAKING LOUD, IT MOVES BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION 2. IF YOU CONNECT IT WITH YOUR PC THEN YOU CANT USE YOUR PC WHEN IT IS PLAYING BECAUSE ITS SO LOUD IT WILL BLOW YOUR EARS.

It looked like an awesome machine .......I am using this product and in my personal experience on this product I would say "Excellent Quality and Clarity" Pros: Sound quality is just awesome. Very nice bass, no matter how much you increase the Volume the sound wont burst. Lot of power for far less money Much much better to look at compared to any in its class. Good sound quality. Though I have not used it with full volume. While using pen drive it does not identify different format audio files. The volume knob is useful feature which is not present with other Philips 2.1 speakers in the same price range. This could have been better if bass control was provided in the remote and if the Bluetooth was provided. I use a USB Bluetooth adapter to play from my mobile, which does the job. FM is clear with the antenna attached. Overall a very good choice.

Nice sound. Only problem is the antenna of FM. If you staying in Mumbai and your building is surrounded by other buildings you might have a problem with FM. In that case you need to put the speakers near window. Rest all fine. Good music, good bass. Loved the quality and design. Only feature missing is Bluetooth connectivity.
