This is a great product to covert HDMI to AV Signal. I basically needed it to hook my embedded board Raspberry B with my old TV which has only AV port. It requires very less signal conversion power so there is no need to connect it with external power source. Pros: 1) Compact and light weight. 2) Works even without power source. Cons: 1) Audio conversion not working and only video with noise heard on TV. 2) Cheap moulded plastic body.

If using for a laptop or PC you will need to have all the audio and video HDMI drivers installed and updated to have this working fine. Not perfect for using as a monitor replacement, but good for watching videos or playing games as text is unreadable at 480/576p NTSC/PAL standard. Perfect for DVD players or consoles. External power source is required and USB mini cable is provided in box which is actually small and loose to connect to the converter box, so a smart charger or any other power alternative is preferred than wall charger. Rather buy a big separate usb mini cable, or a usb mini charger, or simply attach to some device. HDMI and AV cable to be bought separately. Video quality is reproduced good and also can be used well with projectors
