Tomb raider started as a gaming series in the early 2000's and Lara Croft rose from a young girl to be a legend by herself an adventurer and a discoverer .Tomb Raider the game has always moved a lot of people and captured the dreams of thousands .But that was a long time back , now Square Enix is trying to revamp the Tomb raider series and bring back the adventure to its former glory . Tomb Raider 2013 is set in an island far away in Japan in the ruins of the ancient kingdom of Yamatai. The locality and settings of the game at first sight draws you in , with beautiful lush vegetation and craggy rock ledges, the fierce sea of Japan and the un-forgiving ruins and under ground tunnels make Tomb Raider really stand out even among st all the modern games . To simply put it visually, the game is stunning with a beautiful world created from the latest graphical engines (but yes you do need to play it on a decent modern gaming pc ). Lara Croft in the beginning is more of a scholar and later as the story progresses ,you will truly love the transformation of Lara's character into a hardened survivor. Tomb Raider also comes up with truly fantastic set action pieces where the player needs to smash the correct buttons through a sequence of steps which leads to exhilarating moments in the game .But the truly amazing moments are nonetheless the most silent ones with Lara alone in the truly huge world . The rest of the characters in the game are pretty good and have their own view of the situation they are in. The island once truly filled with the rich culture and heritage of the Yamatai kingdom now lies completely in ruins and is inhabited by a cultist group .The locals are not at all welcoming towards Lara and her crew or for that reason any outsiders to that island .Square Enix has also added a bit of fiction to make the story more enticing and it truly does wonders. As far as the game play is concerned Tomb Raider provides top notch game play. Game play is very versatile with engaging close combat thrills to stealthy ranged combat and at the same time the combat feels fast paced .Whether you are in a melee combat dodging through the enemy hits and counter attacking or piling up bodies with head shots with a bow from a distance the combat is thrilling and rewarding .The gore and blood in the game is just perfect and combat moves make a great spectacle to watch. Tomb Raider never lets you feel that the combat is repetitive even though it is to some extent .The game simply melds the real time combat and the set piece action sequence so cleverly you will hardly feel bored or complain. The game throws in a couple of weapons among st which the Bow and Arrow was the most attractive (but that depends on the players game play style ). The weapon upgrade and part modifications are a welcome addition to the game as it also introduces new ways to kill enemies .There are no true Boss fights but some mini boss fights are included and these are fun .For true adventurers there is a lot to look forward to as the game does have a lot of hidden artifacts, specially those of the ancient Japanese culture and a lot of weapon mods can also be found .Then again there is a small but efficient skill tree system which you need to upgrade and the perks that you receive also enhances your game play experience a lot. All in all if I were to rate the game out of 10 I'd give it a 9.5 with a few graphical glitches here and there .With more than 12 hrs of solid game play ,beautiful visuals this game is a must for all gamer s .The action adventure genre has come a long way and Tomb Raider 2013 will definitely add as a solid foundation for the genre .The best one liner to explain it all " An Un-forgettable Experience "

my Rating: 10/10 I did not buy this game from flipkart, I downloaded it from PS3 Store. But I so wish that I had bought it from flipkart and had the DVD box as a collection item as this game is so amazing. I usually do not write reviews but this game has compelled me to write one. I did not like the previous Lara Croft game but this one has blown me away. I love this new beautiful character, Amazing Graphics, Incredible Story, Superb Weapons specially the bow ,Awesome Action and Wonderful Gameplay. You cannot miss this game!! Buy today :D.

This game boasts of some really awesome graphics and a brilliant openworld (small openworld, though) gameplay. Its a bugless game with the quintessential MGS feel but the game length is very short. I dont want to pay 2000 bucks for a less than a couple of hour gameplay. Sure, the side missions unlock after the main story, but no, thats not what I want. Feels like Kojima cash grabbed this time. Still waiting for September release of MGSV-TPP.
