This is book #31 of "The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids" series. As in the previous 30 books, Eddie, Howie, Lisa, and Melody grapple with their concerns and fears about the existence of vampires, ghouls, werewolves, monsters and zombies living in Bailey City. In this installment, the kids are suspicious of Scout, the new girl who works at the Burger Doodle. With her pale skin, red-rimmed eyes and unsmiling face, Scout seems a sure bet as a ghoul, especially when she tells the kids that she is helping a family find a house in Bailey City. Their suspicions are heightened when Mrs. Jeepers, whom they are sure is a vampire, seems to know Scout, too. Convinced that Scout is a spy for vampires, the kids decide on a daring plan that will help them figure out once and for all if Scout is a ghoul or if she is a girl who really needs to get out in the sunshine. Without question, this story follows the formula set up and followed from book 1, but that will not matter to the Bailey School Kids' devoted readers; my daughter is standing beside me waiting for me to finish this review so that she can read this book!
