It turned my CRT TV into a smart TV
By Deepesh Rajanion
Well, not exactly. There is no WiFi or browsing feature in it, but I've got other 5 devices to do that (2 laptops, 2 smartphones & an iPad) :)
Pros:
1. Literally plays any video format that you can throw at it.
2. Well built and compact.
3. HDMI support at this price.
4. Remote is fine. You just have to get used to the keys
5. Somehow, the sound is better than my earlier Amkette Flash Tv Player
Cons
1. Doesn't read .srt files
2. UI makes it look cheap. Could have been designed better.
Overall, go for it. Give your CRT TV a second life.

It just went kaput. I don't know what happened. I pressed the the button which changes the size of the subtitles and it's gone. It is not working anymore. And there's apparently no way to get in touch with them. They've stopped responding on FB and the Bangalore retail shop's number doesn't connect. I'll change my feedback once they take care of this.
How to make foreign language films with subtitles play properly with Cubetek
By Anand Menonon
The product works like a dream.Yes the remote is a bit of a let down but for the price this player is like VLC-plays everything(well almost)-so its a good value for the money.
Some customers have mentioned that subtitles on foreign films are not read. This particular problem occurs when the name of the video file and the subtitle file DO NOT match. The manual supplied by Cubetek doesn't mention how to trouble-shoot this particular problem. So I thought I'd address this. Please follow instructions step by step.
Step1:Create a separate sub folder and name the subfolder in your Hard drive or usb stick.
Step2:Copy paste the video file into the subfolder. Also copy paste the subtitles files into the same subfolder.
Step3:Right-click on the video file and click "Rename"
Step4:Copy the name of the file before the dot file descriptor. For ex if the video name is Die_Hard_Part2.avi copy only the portion before the dot.Which means you have copied only "Die_Hard_Part2"
Step 5-Rightclick on the subtitles file and click "Rename".
Step 6:Copy paste the name of the video file and add .srt or.sub or .idx as the case maybe. For ex in this case if the subtitles is an srt file with a different name it should read Die_Hard_Part2.srt(Remember names have to match exactly)
Step7:Now you are ready to properly play the subtitles because the names of BOTH the video and the subtitles files EXACTLY MATCH .So now there are two files within the subfolder -one is Die_Hard_Part2.avi and the other is Die_Hard_Part2.srt
Step8:Navigate to the video subfolder and play video.Subtitles will play beautifully:).Adjust Size, colour etc using navigation buttons on the remote and even timesync (if required) using the function available.
Hope this helps

Great Buy

A great tiny media box for all your needs. This connects seamlessly via HDMI and played my Blu-ray movies of my 2 TB hard disk with ease. Even most subtitles are supported. The main problem that I had was that my TV couldn't play the DTS audio codec that is in most 1080p mkv. files. This is no problem with the media player. At 2800 it is amazingly affordable as well. The user interface is a bit ugly and the remote doesn't have much range but I higly recommend it.
Cubetek HD Mini Media Player
By Joel Karimpilon
Excellent Player!!!
Plays all formats you generally download from torrents ;)
.avi (hardly any movies in this format nemore)
.mp4
.mkv ( I have tried playing a 1080 p HD movie in mkv format and it works like a charm.) This is probably the best it gets with formats.
It does not have an internal Hard Disk, so we avoid the heating issues. Comes with a AV cable so that you can play it even on CRTs, if you have one in these times. I do.
Comes with a handy easy-to-use remote.
Cons:
Does not come with an HDMI cord, so you would have to purchase one for yourself.
Does not have direct Audio output to Surround systems. Hence, you would have to route your sound through the TV.
