I selected this product since it is compatible with various Operating Systems unlike others printers. It should also work with previous and later kernels as I see the company providing latest driver and installation manuals at regular intervals. I'm happy that I didn't purchase any more popular brand's product. Brother provides good amount of technical documentation online, also the product quality and refinement is very good. It took some time to set up but it is worth the efforts. I'm writing the review after 8 months of extensive use.

I had minor problem with printer when I received the printer. There is minor plastic piece which pushes paper out. This was not proper which caused paper jam always. The service center replaced that part. I was hesitant in buying this product initially assuming the price vs quality but now I am happy. This is excellent product worth for money for small business and home.The post purchase maintenance is very cheap interns of toner powder refill....I have already printed some useful books whose cost have exceeded printer's cost. To conclude its worth.Small Tip : I have seen many reviews saying it is not auto duplex. but if user is slightly patient they can print all odd pages and then arrange to print even pages (see settings in printer options). This way they can get equivalent quality of new book.Hope this review helps.

Best printer for the amount of money. I bought it in 2015 & I am writing the review after almost two years of usage. The printer is quick and does what it is supposed to do without any fancy gimmicks. Of course there are no WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS or the Hotline to the almighty God that comes attached with this. But be realistic. If you have set it up for your home, there is only a one in a thousand chance that you need WiFi or something else. I have it for my personal use (& it is large) & it works like it should. I never bought inkjets as had seen my brother wasting literally 20k in inkjet printers.Pros.1) Easy to set it up. The drivers are easy to find, even if you lose the accompanying disk.2) Prints in a jiffy. Good quality prints and I have even printed a 300 page book. It starts to get really hot after the 80-100 page mark. So use it intermittently.3) Toner powder changing is simple and easy. I have did it & the powder costs as low as Rs150 in the local shop & it is still remaining for half more. You might even find it less than that in Amazon.4) Compact.Cons.1) I have never felt any but in order to maintain neutrality, I would say that the I wish it came out in black colour!2) If you didn't know it already, it prints only in black. NO CMYK!
Good laser Printer for the given Price

(Although HL-1111 is discontinued there is an updated model HL-1201 which I bought after using this one for 3 months). Around 500 pages printed and the ink level is not even half way.i like the size of the printer,it is compact and small. speed is also good. this is the best laser printer in this price range.Only CON I find here is the build quality.But very easy to use and if any paper jams or error, the software pops it out as well as for most of the errors, solution is available on their website itself.
Awesome value for money and a reliable printer.Spares are very difficult to find.

Awesome value for money and a reliable printer. Have printed around 3000 pages till now. Bought this printer on 15th October, 2014. The original cartridge which came with the printer gave an amazing 1550 prints of good quality. It prints photos also unlike what some ppl say in their reviews. The cartridge can easily be refilled by self or by any computer shop in less than Rs. 300 with original toner and it gives around 1200 prints with the refilled cartridge also. But this printer has only and only one downside that is that it gets overheated when your print around 70-80 papers at the same time and takes around 10mins to cool down before doing further printing.5 stars from my side. It is by far the most value for money printer I have bought for my office.

This Printer is not good. i bought from flipcart and not satisfy with this product, The main problem is in this printer is Paper Jam.

I Ordered it yesterday on 8th May 2015 and as usual the exceptional flipkart services got it delivered the very next day. However, on receiving the product i tried using it but everytime the paper got jammed.
Out of my 20 print attempts, none succeed and only my A4 sheets were wasted.
I have initiated a refund request, let's see...

Not of any use. Flipkart refused replacing as it had crossed 10 days of replacement period. However I only called on 15th-16th day.
