As good a value you can get for your money

By Saurabh Majumdaron
First up, kudos to Flipkart for their service. It took some convincing, but they refunded the price difference that was effected the day after I received delivery of the product through Flipkart First. 5 stars for that. Coming to the product itself, I would rate it a 4.5/5 and my line of thought goes as follows: Having used a TN panel for 6 years, there was no way I was going to buy another one of those again. Gaming is one of my main purposes, but even 120Hz and 1ms response time (at a significant price premium) was never going to convince me otherwise. The default option then was an IPS panel display, especially from the Dell Ultrasharp series. It overcomes the shortcomings of my previous display, mainly the flicker, colour and viewing angles, but has its own cons in the form of IPS glow and a higher price which need to be balanced out. With my mind set on finding the middle ground, I came down the path presented by the AMVA panel. This Benq model features an AU optronics panel which is about as good as it is going to get for this technology. I say middle, but while it comes at a small price premium over TN panels, it trades punches with IPS panels in terms of quality. In effect, it is a real VFM. So how do the listed features stack up on the goodness scale? MHL: Seems like a cool thing to have if your phone is MHL compatible. For now, my mobile sits snuggly in the stand while getting charged, alerting me of any notifications while I work/play. Cinema Mode: Just a preset mode with higher contrast and sharpness. Super Resolution: Really cranks up the sharpness and is not very pleasing to use. Smart Focus: Dims out certain part of the screen to watch videos that are not in full screen mode. If it sounds banal, it is. Flicker-free: A deal clincher for me. I had to previously take recourse to a pair of Gunnar's to be able to use the PC for an extended period of time. This monitor is really easy of the eyes as it does not use PWM to adjust the brightness. Low Blue Light Mode: Another "healthy feature". Ruins the colour akin f.lux, but is particularly useful when reading in low light conditions. ' Apart from these, I would like to mention some of the other hardware aspects that are kind of unique to this product. First up, the bezels. The picture accompanying the product is certainly marketing drivel as it chooses to ignore the inner bezel. However, all things considered, the bezels are still slimmer than most monitors of this size. Also, the thin outer bezel makes this thing a piece of art when switched off, a perfect aesthetic complement to the living room. Next up, the touch controls. It is frankly undetectable in all but flood-lit conditions. The "Low Blue Light" sticker aids in finding its location but you have to take random vertical swipes hoping to hit one of the controls. Thereafter, on-screen prompts aid in completion of the task and in that way it is better than having physical buttons that wear off quickly or act wonky over time. Regular usage in my case is limited to switching between picture modes and hence there isn't much to complain about. However, something as simple as luminescent markings would have helped immensely.' The other aspect is the ports provisioning which is conspicuous by the absence of DVI. It immediately renders my GPU's dual DVI ports useless along with the cables. I did have an HDMI cable on hand (not supplied by Benq) to connect my monitor, but that meant I had to disconnect my TV as my GPU has only one HDMI port. This is nothing an adapter won't solve but just brings in to picture (pun intended) an extra hassle that can be done without. Coming to the display attributes, the settings allow enough freedom to come up with a satisfying picture quality. The true 8-bit panel without dithering enables to easily come up with an eye-pleasing setting which is more than enough in the absence of any calibration equipment. Among the cons, there is the "MVA glow" which I honestly find to less irksome than IPS glow or general backlight bleeding. Also, while screen legibility is not impacted when viewing at extreme angles, there is certainly a perceptible off-centre colour shift which might be an issue if you are not viewing the monitor straight up. The speakers are best forgotten. I would like to put in a special mention for the contrast of this monitor which is frankly breath-taking and cannot be matched by any TN/IPS panel. I had engaged in back-to-back sessions of the original Bioshock on my old monitor and this one, and was frankly astounded at the details I could make out in the dimly lit regions. The contrast remains intact even with low brightness settings which is also useful for reading and surfing in a dark environment. To sum it up, unless you are a professional gamer or artist/photographer, this is the best everyday 24" inch monitor you are going to get at this point of time. Bang for the buck at Flipkart's price of 12420.

Amazed.

This is a REALLY great monitor: -This is a VA panel which you just can't get at this price, Dell offers VA panel @ 17k, so this one is really very nice, plus it has some extra features like anti banding, which supposedly reduces strain on eyes, I definitely feel the comfort comparing to my previous monitor. the BLACKS on this are AMAZING, almost as good as my Sony Bravia TV, VA panel offers the best blacks and I can really feel the difference. - TN panel doesn't look impressive to me, and IPS doesn't have as good blacks, plus response time is slow so skeptical about using them for gaming, so VA is best of both worlds, plus offers best blacks. -This monitor looks AMAZING, yes the bezel isn't what you'd expect after seeing the picture, but it is still very thin compared to other monitors and movies seem really immersive. Build quality is also really nice and they feel surprisingly premium. -Some people have mentioned touch buttons as cons, well I think it is a pro, because when I want to quickly adjust brightness, it becomes very quick with assigning the brightness adjustment as quick button, even the power button is touch which is really great. -MHL works FLAWLESSLY with my Xperia SP, THEY EVEN PROVIDE CABLE OUT OF THE BOX, which otherwise would've cost at least 500 bucks, really appreciate BenQ for this. If you're familiar with MHL, you'd know how convenient it is to use it without the power source cable. Just a single cable does all of it. Cant believe how cheap they are for what they offer, if you're thinking about buying these, just go for it, this is PERFECT monitor IMO, if you cant afford 2k or 4k ones. Even at 24 inches I don't find the pictures to be sharp enough, so I don't see any sense in going for a bigger sized monitor at 1080p. This isn't the best budget monitor, this is THE best monitor (excluding 2k, 4k).

More than AWESOME

By Arindam Chowdhuryon
I bought it for only 10K(20% off) from flipkart, got delivered after only 3days, kudos to eKart logistics for that. Got 1 HDMI cable free wid it (worth Rs.500/-). Looks are awesome, 24-inch for 10K, as i was luckey to place the order with the offer. Pic quality is unbelievable. So No need to compare wid any product, go for it. Thanks. :)

Amazing Display.

By Suryaveer Patnaikon
This is an insane monitor. I am using it as an secondary display for my Laptop and it looks stunning. I will not get into specs, if you are planning for large display... THIS IS IT. Kudos to flipkart.. Delivered within 2 days. I must add though.. It doesn't come with a HDMI cable. You will have to buy one. When u connect, you will have to manually select the input source. (I had to in my case.) It is an amazing display, bang on money.

People write reviews without knowing a thing.

Mr. Chandaran Peter I guess your mobile i.e., Samsung Galaxy S4 does not support MHL. I bought this monitor and expected it to be delivered soon. Hope it stand up to its reputation. Finger crossed.

A very good monitor with great specifications and even better looks

By Adarsh Kombilathon
After my 8 year old crt monitor breathed its last, I decided to purchase a 24" fHD monitor. But the problem was which one. Then after narrowing down the lg 24mp77hm, dell s2216h and this benq one were left that has a good contrast ratio and a good response time and has the thinnest bezels . The lg costs 16k and the dell is cheaper but was only 22". This benq monitor falls in between. It has a 4ms gtg response time and has excellent contrast ratio that makes watching movies a treat to the eyes. The bezels are super thin but the bezel on the bottom is a tad bit thicker. Still nonetheless this monitor looks really good! The screen is matt finish and when turned off, the bezels are impossible to see except the bottom one but that's because its brushed metal.Watching movies, animes and playing games is amazing and the slim bezels add a sexy look overall. Would definitely recommend this monitor in this price range

Strictly for watching videos

By ????on
Looking at all the positive reviews, I was hoping for a stellar monitor that would perform as good as it looked. However, the story turned out to be quite a disappointment. The monitor is very bright. In fact, even at the lowest setting, the whites / creams are very harsh. The effect is compounded if you are viewing it in a dark room.I have tried several settings, and I was never fully satisfied with the colour accuracy either. If you want to watch movies and YouTube videos, this monitor is definitely worth the asking price. But if you want to do a lot of designing or word processing work, give this one a skip and go in for a Dell or an Acer.Every time I work in this monitor, I come away with a mild headache and sore eyes. I am not sure if I would at all recommend this monitor to anyone other than those who want to watch videos. The AddonsThe MHL works pretty well, but it is mostly a fancy add-on rather than one with any real utility. And as it stands, the monitor looks pretty and like the precursor of the infinity displays on the Dell XPS 13The sound output from the built-in speakers is very tinny and barely audible, unless you are in a deafeningly quiet room.

Best VFM big screen. Got HDMI cable gift voucher from amazon.

By Ketan kadamon
Have been a long time benq monitor user and i can safely vouch for their quality, which i felt was overall as good as dell, samsung etc if nt better.Has inbuilt speakers, you can use hdmi for the audio input itself provided ur graphics card supoorts it, fr 3.5 mm aux connection u hv to configure the monitor from settings to get it to work. Sound is what u wud expect from inbuilt speaker's not very loud. The color reproduction is very good and use the best color presets in the settings to get the best experience modes such as movie, eco, srgb etc good response time of 4ms , mhl connectivity to cnnct mobile phones. No reflection at all. Awesome vieweing angles, can be viewed lying on the ground. Package had a HDMI included sticker but i did not get one so contacted amazon and they have me a GIFT voucher to buy one from them, thank you amazon. Only grime is the touch button are hard to locate but work well once located. Its stylish and handles movies, games and graphics like a boss

Decent VFM monitor

By Anupamon
Bought this on Jan 2016 at around 11K and the design and quality is decent. Only hassle that I faced during initial time was regarding monitor plug and warranty. The piece which I got is originally made for Australia and have an AUS plug and I had to contact BenQ customer care to get a copy of Warranty letter which is valid in India.

Great service and brand new product from Snapdeal

By Ayush.dubey88on
I had ordered this monitor from Amazon twice both times I got defected product...finally got refund from Amazon and bought it from snap deal very good brand new product. I will suggest not to use Amazon they always give used and defected products at least in my experience. Monitor is also overpriced in Amazon..

Monitor started blinking issue in one year

By Akhilon
This monitor starts showing blinking issue soon after the warranty of one year is over. I believe seller has provided me refurbished monitor. I was reluctant to buy from SD but then I trusted them and bought this and now I regret my decision. I will never ever buy from SD as I have lost my faith in them.
