Perfect product!

By Flipkart Customeron
Hello everyone, I bought this laptop from Asus store for 92k and it met my expectations. The upper part is metal and build quality is amazing. Display is very good . trackpad is also good but it is somewhat inconvient . if u get used to it it is not a problem. Speaker is not so loud. Overall it is a best laptop under 1 lakh. Better than MSI.

its metal man

By Babita Jainon
This model has metal body its a great laptop and probably best in under 1 lakh INR though speakers are a little sucky

Just awesome

By Niranjan Ron
The best laptop you could get in this price range in India (RS 93k). Pros : 1. Graphic card GTX 960 4 GB, runs games like Dota 2 and Assassin's Creed smoothly at High or even Ultra settings. 2. Screen is really good. It's a IPS screen with matte finish gives a premium look. 3. Boot up time takes approx 5-7 seconds thanks to the OS being installed on SSD. Cons : 1. The speaker is a little let down as not much volume is observed even at max volume. Overall it's the best buy laptop at this price range especially for people looking to get a good gaming laptop.

Pretty solid laptop for heavy compute

By Flipkart Customeron
I needed a i7-6700HQ machine that can take 32GB RAM - for my work and ended up buying this ASUS ROG GL552VW-CN430 (i7-6700HQ/16GB RAM/1TB HDD/128GB SSD/Grey-Metal). Overpaid a bit (96.4K from seller: Scion). When I first saw the shipment I immediately called Flipkart and asked for a refund. Why? Because the black ASUS marked paper sealing tape on the bottom side of box was broken and having read all the nightmares some reviewers had faced in past - returning the expensive box untouched seemed rational! Well I took a risk and I am happy that I did so. It turned out that the laptop was in mint condition - regardless of the packaging. Quick take: The looks/proportions/material/color combinations/red-led-backlight on keyboard etc does not feel very refined. May be that's because I am not a gamer or may be too old. It is bit heavy as well. If you want a sleek laptop instead then Zenbook may be one of the option. On the other hand build quality seems quite good - for some one who have gone through 5 Dell Latitudes (corporate) in last ten years. Speaker is somewhat crappy/shrill - but its a don't care for me. If you want rich bass then get a soundbar. Keyboard is quite nice to type. I like the feel of chicklet keys. Can't comment on Touchpad - since I use a mouse. Booting is fast (C: drive is SSD). Battery life is decent. When all 4-Cores are running at 100% it shows 1.5 hr battery life on a fully charged battery. Left idle it climbs to 5.5 hours with 25%screen brightness. Screen is crisp even for my tired eyes, especially when using super small fonts in browser/ visual studio code window. In any case my plan is to use it with a external 27 inch HD/4K monitor. Spent 12 hours actually working on this. Here is what I did in case you are interested: Replaced McAfee with a licensed Norton (INR. 750) - within first 15 minutes of laying my hand on it. I am quite scared of malware / zero-day-exploits. I use genuine Norton on all my windows machines. Installed whole bunch of stuff that I needed: Windows updates, MS-Office, Visual Studio, NVIDIA CUDA SDK ... Then cloned my application development environment from my workstation (an 8 year old overclocked i7-920/24GB/GTX295 highend desktop with ASUS Rampage Extreme MoBo) and then banged away at the new laptop it for ~9 hours writing, compiling and running intensive code that hogs ~100% of 4xCores at its peak and ~10GB RAM. I plan to use integrated graphics for the display (good enough for me) and keep the GTX960M for CUDA applications. Compiled and ran some CUDA 8.0 tests - all working. Well I am impressed. Not a single hardware/software glitch so far. This laptop is as good as my massive desktop rig and portable too ! Plan is to bump the RAM to 32GB and see if the 6700HQ CPU can be made to run at 3.5GHz. If mobility does not matter then go ahead and build your own supercomputing rig for serious game / work that demands it. It is amazing how cheap and plentiful compute has become in last 20 years ! If on the other hand for some reason you need lot of portable compute then I would highly recommend GL552VW at this point of time. Tomorrow will always bring better machines ... and then there are those AWS servers on rent ! Now I just hope the damn thing doesn't break down anytime soon!

Great Laptop for 4K Video Editing !!

By ANIMESH MANDALon
GL552VW is a great laptop even at this price range in INDIA. However this laptop costs me 90K after replacing 1TB HDD with 960GB Sandisk SSD & I have the Canadian model with 128GB PCIe SSD not normal M.2 SSD, unlike this Indian model. Pros : 1. Build Quality 2. Keyboard travel 3. USB Type-C ( Which makes this laptop future proof at least for 1-2 years ) 4. FAST....Very FAST ( Took 7-8 Seconds for BOOT UP & It is faster than Macbook Pro 15 ) 5. Inaudible FAN Noise & Heating issue ( Which is very surprising for me, During 4-5 hrs of rendering process you can barely listen to any FAN NOISE ) Cons : 1. Battery Backup ( 2.5 Hrs of Normal Use & can't expect more than that ) 2. Fingerprint Magnet ( only around the Keyboard area ) 3. Heavy ( 2.5 Kgs is not Heavy for me actually ! I carry my Cameras & Lenses in my bag & even Macbook Pro 15 weights 2 Kgs ! NO PROBLEM FOR ME but it can be for some people ) It's been 4 Months & this laptop is running very smooth & I can't ask anything more at 90K !! I use this laptop as a secondary device for video editing. With 128GB PCIe SSD Stick which gives me around 1.1GB/s of Read & Write speed & a 1 TB 2.5 SSD with 500MB/s Read & Write ....My 4K Video Editing + Rendering workflow !!

Amazing product

By Neerajon
Laptop is very good, it came with a laptop bag also although it was mentioned there is no laptop bag. And there is 2 years warranty on the product instead of 1. I hope seller will update those details in description. What can I say, it was a surprise for me, I got more than what I expected.

A good portable workstation/entry-level gaming laptop

By Chackoon
Performance: Mostly robust. Quick startup and quick loading of heavy apps like Photoshop and InDesign. Can't handle some of the heavier files that my desktop can, but that's understandable, with 16GB vs 32. Occasional freezes for a few seconds, especially on click+drag actions, which disrupts workflow. Not much stress-testing with games - ran SC:Blacklist maxed out with a smooth framerate, but that's not very demanding. Will update after actual tests.Build: Good design, decent construction. The IPS screen is quality for colour work. Unimpressive speakers, but not a priority for me. Good keyboard (layout+feel), and a decent trackpad. Battery doesn't last too long, maybe 1.5 hrs of Photoshop work. Wish they had the option to swap out the mostly pointless optical drive for more battery space. Power cable could have been designed better. Distance from plug to the power brick is short, which makes it complicated for use with higher wall sockets.Other notes:- The included bag is compact but useful. Enough space for laptop + Wacom tablet + a few extra peripherals.- A lot of ASUS + McAfee bloatware to uninstall/disable.
