A frank review
By Sam Maliyakenon
First of all, I want to thank all the folks those who kept this product underrated. :D . Obviously its a good tab and because it deserve a good price. Because it is from Acer. Acer is a trusted name in Computer world. So they should also include brand value to their selling price.
But what happened here is because of low rating, people hesitated to buy this product and hence both Acer and Flipkart have to decrease the price.
Coming to the product,
I still not understand why this one is so much underrated.
What you guys are expecting from a tab?
Are you going tio make call from a 8 inch tab? I don't understand.
Now a days everyone is going for smart phones. Almost all the phones have wi fi hotspot feature. So I don't think that wi fi availability is going to be a huge issue,
Main purpose of tablets are entertainment and study purpose(at least for me).
I needed a tab for entertainment and study. (To be specific mainly for watching movies & reading PDF files and to an extent for browsing also) I am not a huge gamer.
I have to say so far my tab is doing extremely good. I updated her ( ya, my tab ;) ) to Kit Kat (4.4.2), about 560 mbs, and some minor updates follows. Now she is up to date.
Acer powers this tab with 1.6 Ghz Intel dual core and with 1 gig RAM. Believe me, for a normal user it is good enough. Not at all a single lag is experienced till now.
8" HD IPS display is extremely cool for reading and watching movies. Screen is bright and having good pixels. Even in the lowest point of brightness, screen is not dull. Reading is also a too good experience with this tab. E books reading is one of the best side using this tab.
Sounds is ok. I'm using my Nokia headsets, ya I can hear her well. :) It is enough for me. :D
To me camera is surprising. From the previous reviews I expected a only a blurry noicy cam. But surprisingly it is better than my Lumia's cam. Front cam is also doing its job well ( front cams are for video calls. Not for selfies :p , but selfies are also not that much bad). In short she has good eyes too... :D
Battery is too good. I updated the major update and various app updates. But battery is strong and only few percentages are consumed. Today also I have spent hours with her. I have to say that the battery is strong.
Out of 16 GB intetrnal memory, about 11.something is available for users. It comes with a few useful pre installed apps. (Some are useless to me, but unfortunately there is no way to uninstall them). Anyway there is lot of space to fill. :) . It supports OTG cable and I grab one from a local dealer for 50 bucks. So memory is ok for me.
I downloaded a few apps from playstore and all of them are running fine.
It is pairing well with my phone and I can use my Lumia as my wi fi hotspot.
So connectivity is not a problem.
Bluetooth 3.0 is a caking to the ice and file transfer is also remarkably good.
Acer is providing proper updates for android. Hope that Lollipop will also come soon.
All in all it is a good tab for 7k.
Cons:
Local availability of accessories is a problem. Flipkart is not delevering accessories to our place. :/
For a 7000 rs tab, you can't find any other problem to this .
So, if you are looking for a tab without sim, and having a ssmartphone, its one of the best picks.
And now.... Am in love with her.... ;)
Badly reviewed, over hyped

Suggest to avoid this, an older Nexus tablet would work better. Screen dpi not up to the mark for the price. The biggest issue is that the applications lag, not something to expect in this time of cheap mobile processors.

This tab is very slim. It has intel atom core it is super fast
But there is no3g in it but it is good tablet as compared to samsung galaxy tab 3.

Excellent Tab for Students and schools
By Philip Eapenon
Most reviewers curse this tab because it doesn't support 3G or voice calling. And yet many schools and parents insist that their wards have tablets without internet access other than through approved WiFi access points. This Acer tablet fits the bill and is much cheaper than iPad mini. In terms of performance, handling, and battery backup, this Acer tab is an ace!
Does not have Calling options neither 3G through a dongle!!

Specifications look awesome.
1.6 Ghz Intel Atom Dual core processor with 1GB DDR2.
Screen is also has IPS LED backlit LCD, it gives perfect viewing angles.
Cons:
Does not have sim slot.
No 3G dongle support.
Does not have flash.
Over priced with these lack of features.
