The TV arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait for the 'demo and installation exec' to come and turn it on! So, ended up doing it myself. The good- The picture and sound quality is amazing as one would expect from Sony. Much of the software features are pretty good. With android as the base, there are plenty of content apps (Youtube, Netflix, iHeartRadio etc.) that either come pre-installed or are available through the Play Store. Love the fact that you can use your TV remote to control the set-top box as well. The bad- 3D glasses are not included anymore. I have yet to buy them and will update the review once I get a chance to try the 3D rendering. Its a shame that the TV did not come with the latest Android TV OS. I had to wait almost 30 minutes to download and apply the latest updates. The download was fairly quick (

This is the only 55 inch model in SONY TV lineup which is not 4K. I bought it as there is hardly any 4K channel available in india. I used it for 3 weeks now and its really amazing. Picture quality is superb and tons of features which android offers. The sound quality is decent but not great which i expected from Sony.

I was skeptical about ordering such an expensive tv online, but since it was available with WS Retail and I got the best deal compared to other stores, I decided to buy it online. Flipkart was prompt in managing the entire delivery and they also scheduled the installation with Sony technician. The TV was well sealed and packaged and delivered at my doorstep. The contents of the box were explained to me and checklisted. Regarding the tv itself, am very satisfied with the product. The Android features of the TV are exciting and it works very well. Am yet to try out 3d videos in my tv but I was very satisifed to see the demo 3d videos in Sony showroom. Am using the IR blaster that came with the box and it enables me to use the Sony remote with Tata Sky as well. HD channels seem amazing and the audio is pretty good. The camera that came with the TV is not of much use for now until Skype or hangout is supported. I tried out Asphalt gaming from Google play store and the graphics is too good. Minor Cons: The sony app in my mobile device at times does not connect seamlessly with the TV. It does not work always even though the TV is always on wifi. Hopefully it will be sorted out with a software update. The ports are not so accessible, but am planning to buy a usb hub to extend it and connect all my storage.

Sony is sony... Unbelievable picture quality. If u r thinking of buying it then buy it without any doubts. The delevery was in 2 days as they promised. And after recieving the tv, I called up sony for demo and the very next day the executive came... Though I was little tensed after purchasing it but when it was delivered i was glad that I bought it. All total it was a very good experience...

I did not buy this product from Amazon, but bought it from a brick and mortar store in Pune. Nevertheless, I do hope my review will be of help to other potential buyers. Here I go...I use this 55 inch TV in a 12 feet by 12 feet room, with a home theatre setup. So, I do not use the TV speakers for sound. Leaving that aside, I am really impressed with this TV. The picture quality is amazing. (I have used a 32 inch Sony Bravia earlier and now upgraded to Sony again!). A 55 inch size is good for a 12x12 feet room, the TV is not oversized at all.When going for purchasing a smart TV, some maybe slightly confused as to which OS to prefer. In my view, the current state of smart TVs in the market is such that no single OS has matured enough, but in terms of potential and promise, Android holds the most potential. However, one must realise that the TV interface has undergone a sea change and one must be open to this change. The interface is no longer similar to the non-smart TV interface. Also, being on Android OS, one must be prepared for once-in--while (if not frequent) upgrade to the OS. After I bought my TV 2 months back, I have already had one update to the OS.I have connected this TV with a network cable for internet connection, and practically rarely use a set top box (TATA Sky). The HD video through internet is good, and never face a streaming problem. Video played through pen drive plays very well - good HD quality, with subtitles if required. the TV comes with extension cables for USB. So, though the USB ports are behind and no accessible easily, the extension cables make it easy to use them.Some Cons, though minor:1. I do not find the sound blaster of any great use. Although it can connect to Tata Sky set top box and turn it ON when you turn on the TV, you still need the Tata Sky remote to surf the channels. I have actually removed it and kept it aside.2. The camera is of little use. I would be glad if someone can point me to a good use of the camera. I have actually removed it and kept it aside.3. The Sony TV Sideview remote app for Android is painful. I wonder why Sony hs not paid attention to its design. However, therea re other apps available in the app store that work better.Just to mention, the TV does not come default with the advanced remote, and it is not easy to search/type using the standard remote. However - one can type or even do a voice search using the android TV remote app. (the Sony TV Sideview app does not work so well, and is complicated)I have not used the 3D so far.Overall, a great TV, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
