Amazing resolution, great performance. 2 considerations:1.The audio quality is not upto the mark, this is seemingly a problem with most thin frame led tvs today. May need to attach a soundbar if you need decent sound quality..2. Webos does not support a lot of apps currently. If you are planning to watch a lot of OTT content then you may need to buy a media streaming device.Other than that, webos is very intuitive & fast to use.Highly innovative TV Remote makes viewing content so simple.

The product is working superbly. The clarity is amazing. I think the sound clarity could have been much better. I am assuming this issue is very native to all large screen TVs. May be I need to look for a sound bar.Amazon delivered before time and had to wait for 4 days to get it installed. That was the most irritating part.

This LG TV combines a very good LCD panel with an extraordinarily complete set of technological features. It's a bit spendy, and for the same money you might get better picture quality with fewer bells and whistles, but this is a really solid combination for TV, movies, and games.That LCD panel, first of all. It's a huge 49-inch IPS screen. The upshot of this is that the black levels aren't as good as other screen types, but the viewing angles are terrific. We had a full living room for movies the other night, and even at almost side-on the colours were accurate and the contrast was good. The black levels aren't bad, to be clear, especially with the local and global backlight dimming. I will say that the uniformity on dark screens isn't as good as it could be; there's a definite brighter haze on the bottom left corner than the rest of the screen, which I've long since become accustomed to. (I was tempted to try out fixing it with the warranty but am no longer convinced it's necessary.) The colour reproduction is excellent, with very accurate and natural calibration out of the box. Skin tones look perfect, yet saturated colours in games or cartoons absolutely jump off the screen. (Movie mode is spot on, but the standard mode isn't overly blue.)The TV supports HDR, and it does a reasonable job. It's leaning heavily on the dynamic dimming for dark areas and absurdly high peak brightness to do that, and it works pretty well on the games I've tried. The local dimming is limited to about 10 vertical stripes across the screen, which is pretty basic, but it's reasonably subtle and it responds fast. The screen is 4K too of course, and that's good, but even at this screen size it's a case of diminishing returns over 1080p. (This TV is apparently using an odd RGBW subpixel arrangement so it has a strictly lower horizontal resolution than actual 4K, but I didn't notice any image artefacts.) The set has really great motion response, which I appreciate for games. (Latency in game mode is very good; I haven't measured it, but it seems similar to the 33ms-ish I had on my Samsung.) The sound is even respectable; there's good stereo separation and the size of the screen seems to have let them put in half-decent speakers.Technology is where the TV goes from good to great. The menu system is logical and easy to navigate, with an unobtrusive pop-up menu for changing between modes and a half-screen detailed menu for changing what those modes actually do. There are seven (seven!) different picture presets for you to adjust. Two of these are "expert" modes - one for your daytime viewing settings, the other for night time - where the options actually refer to the intended gamma values and colour temperatures rather than the user-friendly text used elsewhere. There is an audio mode that uses the microphone in the remote to account for your room acoustics. You can swap between different combinations of audio outputs really easily, waking up HDMI-ARC speakers when you need them or swapping to bluetooth headphones (really!) when you don't want to disturb the neighbours. All of this can be navigated with ordinary button presses or with the Wii-style "magic remote" pointer, and both approaches are intuitive.You want boxes ticked? There is every connection you could want except SCART, including 4 HDMI ports (one with ARC) and both Freesat and Freeview tuners. (I do wish they'd put HDMI-3 and -4 and the USB port at the side and not the back.) There's wifi and ethernet. There's a slightly temperamental mode that lets you view two picture sources at once, which at this screen size gives you two ordinary-sized televisions for the price of one. The smart TV features even work well, and are responsive. You can jump straight in to Netflix or just about any catch-up app, or use a passable web browser with Freeview/Freesat playing in the corner. Even voice search works, which I did not expect.At every turn this TV made things easy to use and straightforward. I am thoroughly impressed. It's top-of-the-range technology for a middle-of-the-range TV. The limited black level of the screen and the slight black non-uniformity are the only things stopping me from giving this the unconditional recommendation at five stars. At this price, and with HDR and 4K in the feature list, you might expect better picture quality than this will give you. If you're willing to trade off some image quality for fancy features, this could very well be a five-star TV for you, and I really don't think you'll be disappointed.One last warning - fitting the stand on this TV is simple, but actually physically moving a TV this size is a two-person job, and you might need a big cushion or an air-bed at one point in set-up.
