Very nice product. Saw Jupiter with its moon's for the first time. Waiting for full moon day. Sighting would be more big and clear when the planet or moon is nearer to earth.

Very heavy and has some of pieces with scratched. Parts did not match as decribed in manual. Motor was not packaged as shown in the manual and was already attached. It looked like product has been used.

A good beginner's telescope. Portable, reasonable cost, got what is shown. Planets, star clusters, some nebulas, some galaxies can be seen with it through naked eyes.
The slow motion cables of its CG-3 mount interfare during tracking celestial objects.

The AstroMaster 130 EQ, like all telescopes in the Celestron AstroMaster series, is capable of giving correct views of land and sky. It has a 650mm focal length and produces bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. It's easy to see the moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with this fine instrument. Because of its larger aperture and light gathering ability, this Newtonian reflector telescope can also provide views of the brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae.

Received in good condition and in less than week since I ordered. Being our first telescope and our limited knowledge, the scope appears very pro. Good results in first sky gazing which we did. Lot of adjustments are required to begin the session. Many parts, need to keep them in order. Telescope is robust and great finish, gives decent results.
Perfect for beginners

As our first telescope we are very happy with it. We've seen mars, venus, uranus and its moons, saturn as its rings and ofcourse the spellbinding moon. The planets arent as big as the moon ofcourse but quite clear. Some things to keep in mind while buying:
1. You have to put it together yourself and even with detailed instructions it can be a bit frustrating but no pain no gain right.
2. Its heavy!
3. Theres no automatic tracker. It needs to be done manually and that can be frustrating too but once you find whatever you're looking for its awesome.
id recommend it to anyone with a serious interest in astronomy in a heartbeat!
