After trying out many brands and being disappointed, I think we have found our awesome toaster. Morphy Richards is what we used just before this. Morphy Richards is good for one thing - throwing out a window. When we opened the Black and Decker toaster, we could clearly notice that the toaster material was a sturdy non-stick one (a real non-stick, not just proclaimed). My standard non-stick test is as follows: 1) plug the toaster in, turn it on. 2) take a block of cheese and put it in the toaster without anything else. Yes, no bread as well. Let the cheese melt and flow. 3) turn off the toaster and let it cool. 4) try to remove the cheese in one clean sweep. What do you know - Black and Decker passed the test and we are really glad. It's now been 10 days of usage. Hope this lasts a long while.

There were many sandwich makers on the site but my son was keen on a Black and Decker so bought it. But I am not too happy with the product. The reasons are 1) Once the filling is put on the bread its very difficult to close the S/W maker .One has to hold on to it tight till the breads get pressed. If I cant fill the sandwich with proper amount of filling then I'd rather have a toast. 2) It does not cut the sandwich cleanly. It does not cut on its on but has to be cut with a knife which leaves one edge open.May be it would cut, if kept for a longer time till the bread gets nicely browned ( to the extent of getting burnt). 3) Its far too expensive. All the functions that this does can be done by an ordinary sandwich maker worth half its cost. If I have paid so much then I would expect a better performance. Its only plus point is it looks quite sleek and has a brand name of BLACK & DECKER!!
